Bear Pause Log Cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains
Welcome to our Log cabin. This real log home is set in a sunny meadow surrounded by the Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest with awe-inspiring views. This perfect mountain getaway tucked into a private cove, with all the comforts of home with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. It's easy to get to from I-40 but still so peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. Much thought has gone into the details such as the children's room with bunk beds and books and toys. Plenty of seats on the wraparound porch for sipping coffee while looking out at the mountains or watching a sunrise from the back or sunset from the front. One can walk all the way around the house from the hot tub to the firepit, to the oversized rockers, to the picknick table boasting of a glorious view of the mountains. From the hot tub, the view is spectacular. Great spacious yard, boasting of two fire pits!.
On the inside, there is beautiful woodwork highlighted by the vaulted ceilings. From the loft, there is a lovely view of the mountains and the attractive surroundings invite you to sit and enjoy it. The master bedroom boasts of a large walk-in closet and bathroom with a jacuzzi tub combined with a private den, 49 inch TV and king size bed. There is a personal small refrigerator and coffee service in the room. This room makes for a lovely retreat. The full-service laundry room is a definite plus. The attention to details makes you feel that someone loves this cabin and that it is home away from home. Go whitewater rafting, hike to the falls, take a mountain picnic, visit Gatlinburg, just 22 miles away. Come home to a modern, rustic cabin with a typical country-style decor.
Since there is no trash service out here in the mountains, it is expected for guests to remove and dispose of the trash generated. Trash left outside attract wild animals. For your convenience, there are two trash disposal sites close to the cabin. You will pass one as you come and go to Gatlinburg on 321 and one as you get on I-40 on Wilton Springs Road. The signs say only Cocke county residents, and this trash is generated in Cocke and can be disposed of there. If you leave on a Sunday or holiday, you may leave one bag of trash for the cleaners to remove.

We loved this cabin. The owner was easy to communicate with and the cabin was clean and beautifully decorated for fall. If I go back to the area I would book the cabin again!
The cabin was beautifully laid out, so much more space than what was expected. Great amenities, loved that each floor had its own coffee maker. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The wrap around porch, hot tub, table top fire pit (ran out of propane during first use but was really nice) and grilling space was phenomenal. Really enjoyed the space. We did play our turtle box and got a noise complaint at the fire pit outside, whoopsie. So definitely keep it quiet but that didnt bother us.
Wonderful place to hang out for the week with family. Nice view of nearby mountain from back porch, nice fire out area, clean and spacious living area, near some nice hiking trials and DG market place and Walmart close by for any essentials.
We really enjoyed our stay!! We were in the area for a wedding. It was me and my grown children and their children. My daughter has 2 grown children and my son has 2 small children. We all had plenty of room as well as separation of space with the 3 levels and bathrooms. It was a great stay. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if in the area.
The house was in a great location. My wife and her friend used the hot tub every day. We made a fire in the firepit. The best thing was the house. The wood ceilings and wood floors were beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay their again.
This house was well provisioned and a good location within 45 min of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in a quiet area. Our Sibling Retreat allowed us to rest or drive into town for entertainment. Having to take our own trash was a first, but it was manageable.
Loved everything about this property!!
We will be back.
My favorite was 6 am on the porch drinking coffee an watching Gods nature wake up. Thsnk again to great folks
The cabin is in a lovely valley with a gorgeous view of the sunrise over the mountains. The hosts were very responsive and the cabin was very clean and had many comforts of home. The neighbors were close by, which was a surprise, but it didn't deter from the beauty of the location. We woke up to roosters crowing in the mornings. :)
This is our 3rd time staying in the Gatlinburg Tennessee area , and this cabin is by far the best and cleanest one the we have stayed in.
Other locations didn't provide enough essentials like hand soap, trash bags, TP, but this place did. Having to take away your own trash was different and we kind of over though it before we got there, but there is a place about 5 mins away that you can throw your trash out at no charge, and they provide the address to that place and one other place.
We made use of both fire pits , the 2nd night we made a real fire , there is wood around by the basement door to use. The next 2 days it was raining so we used the gas fire pit on the covered porch.
It is a little far from Pigeon Forge, about 50-60 minutes, and about 30-40 minutes from Gatlinburg, but we tried to plan all of our things in those areas on the same day.
If i had to say anything negative it would be that they could use some weatherstriping around some of the doors, as there were a few gaps the bugs could get in ,we didn't notice any bugs in the cabin though.
The cabin was amazing, did not lack in anything, We had a group of 12 and everyone was fitted nicely, anything you needed was available, easy access to gaitlinburg 40 minutes, food, stores etc. It was perfect.
We loved our stay here. Cabin is beautiful, clean, cozy, and very well stocked. Loved the fire pit and wrap around porch. The view of the mountains is amazing and as a bonus we got a little snow while there. The check in and out process was easy. We will definitely be back!
The property was very well maintenanced. The cabin was very clean and exactly what we wanted. Everything was there that was needed and more! The communication with the host was amazing and very professional! We will definitely be returning!
The cabin is fabulous. Everything was clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for a large group. The views are amazing!! Had everything you would need even though we brought our own. The owners were quick to reply which was really appreciated. Stay here...you wont regret it!
Great property! Loved that they were “off the grid” and away from the tourist spots of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Amenities were very nice save for the broken ice maker.
We recently stayed for a week for our summer vacation and had an amazing time. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and provided everything our family needed. The owners were on top of everything from check in to check out. They touched base with us to make sure we had everything we needed and really made us feel welcome. Location was very convenient to attractions. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin! Thank you!
