Never again

Carpets in room was so dirty I had to keep my trainers on because I didn't want my feet to touch it, very old dirty furniture, noisy, only good thing about this hotel is the views over the sea

good central position

Posted 08-Aug-2016
Pros: staff attitude and central location
Cons: furnishings were old and tired looking - clean but old
Location: good location with excellent beaches, restaurants and shops
staff were extremely helpful at all times. Hotel furnishings are a bit tired but what they lack, the staff make up for. Only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was very good. Excellent choice of good quality food.

Faded Elegance

Posted 02-Aug-2016
Pros: Views
Cons: Direct access to beach if possible. Had to walk 3 blocks for beach access which isn't clearly marked (by the Grand Western Hotel).
Location: Right on the cliff road. Access to restaurants.
Hotel Victoria seems a prime example of faded English elegance. The hotel was clean but had an old-world elegance about it. Some elements of the rooms had seen better days, but there was a grand staircase, game-rooms and places to sit and watch the sea. The sea views were what we were looking for and the sea views are what we got. The hotel is perched on the cliff with views of the Atlantic at sunset. Close to restaurants and right on the cliff road.

Loslitt område og hotell med tilhørende klientell

Posted 04-Jul-2016

Great central hotel with character

Posted 01-Jun-2016 on Hotels
Came down with a friend to stay in Newquay and enjoy the sea and evening entertainment. The hotel could not be in a better position located in the centre of Newquay and within an easy walk of all the beaches and pubs and clubs. The hotel is old and has plenty of character, the room was large and located on the first floor with great sea views. Had all the usual facilities and a comfortable bed. Nice hotel with plenty of character, could do with some modernising however did not detract as such a charming place with nice staff. Went for a swim twice in the excellent pool and Jacuzzi alongside although the changing room and shower needs a revamp. Good sauna too. Parking is £5 per day for residents Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location , lovely stay!

Posted 01-Jun-2016 on Hotels
A pleasant stay. Large spacious room, lots of hot water, clean towels and sheets. Coffee facilities was nice - enjoy a cuppa while looking at ocean . Beds not very comfy but it's not a 5* after all. Great seaview! Breakfast was good -had a bit of everything and was tasty; coffee not so good. Housekeeping can be a little more meticulous . I would stay again. It is a good 3* hotel. Some areas are 4* . The pool and jacuzzi water were nice and warm. The area was 3* ; but you don't get many 3* hotels with such amenities so it was a bargain!
