    Villa Lithari - Olive Press: imposing sea & mountainside view by the pool

    Villa Lithari is perched on the hillside of Viglatouri with spectacular views over the mountains and along the East coast of the island, towards the sea. Having operated as a typical Corfiot village olive press until the 80's, this traditional stone building has been turned into a beautiful 3-bedroom house, preserving its unique ornamental olive press and millstone - or lithari - in the living area!

    Surrounded by a mediterranean garden and a wide mountainside olive grove, this property offers an ambience of peaceful nature living combined with contemporary villa amenities:
    The private swimming pool is purposefully positioned to take full advantage of the views which extend past the rugged mountainside, down towards the island of Vidos, Corfu Town, and further down the South East coast.
    The dining terrace at the side of the house has fantastic sea views, framed by the mountains, and is surrounded by lavender with steps down to the pool - the perfect setting for a traditional Greek dining experience.

    * Entrance:
    Villa Lithari has a private gated driveway for your hire cars with shallow steps up to the entrance. The villa was at one time an olive press, still abundantly apparent from the 'lithari' - or millstone - outside, and there is a table under the front porch fashioned from a once working part, an ideal spot for a morning coffee in the shade.

    * Living space:
    There is a spacious living area which is of a traditional open plan, split level design. The fully equipped kitchen is on the right, the dining table and chairs on the left, and a comfortable lounge area, WC and what is left of the original olive press at the far end. A door from the lounge opens onto the exterior dining area at the side of the villa, which has steps down to the private swimming pool at the rear. There is a second seating area with a built-in corner seating area adjacent to the BBQ terrace on the lower floor.

    * Bedrooms & bathrooms:
    Off of the lounge is a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, each with its own en suite bathroom. The double bedroom has a traditional wooden ceiling with exposed rafters and views out over the pool towards the sea. The twin bedroom adjacent is decorated in a similar style. The second twin bedroom is on this lower level, with patio doors onto the pool terrace and an adjacent bathroom.

    * Location:
    The villas' location is also convenient, close to the holiday resort of Nissaki, its harbour, beach and a selection of shops & restaurants, while Corfu town is a 20km drive away.

    Viglatouri is a mountainside settlement facing the East coast of the island. Sprawling on the sides of a winding, uphill country road among successive olive groves, this small village boasts unspoiled mediterranean nature and spectacular sea views. Ideal location for visiting some of the most beautiful coves and beaches in northern Corfu while staying away from the bustling touristic areas. Offers trekking pathways to explore the foothills of Mount Pantokrator and "Old Sinies" - an early 19th cent abandoned village.

    The small hamlet of Nissaki has managed to escape any large scale tourist development and, as such, enjoys an unhurried pace of life and a truly relaxed atmosphere. Nissaki Bay has three picturesque coves each sheltering its own pebble beach, clear blue waters and one with a tiny anchorage backed by a couple of fine tavernas. There is a small but good selection of gift shops to browse, as well as mini markets where you can pick up some fresh produce to take home and cook up on your very own BBQ. The nearby resort of Kassiopi has a much larger selection of shops to explore, and Corfu Town is also easily accessible by car for a more serious session of retail therapy!

    Beautiful
    Wish we were still here!! A beautiful, well-equipped villa in a perfect location. The views are amazing and only a short drive from lots of really lovely restaurants and local supermarkets. We rented a boat from Nissaki bay which was a great way to really explore. The owner replied straight away to any queries and cleaners visited twice during our 10 day stay, changing sheets and towels which was really good. The air conditioning worked well which meant a great night’s sleep. Definitely recommend and we will be back to Villa Lithari!

    Characterful villa with superb views
    A beautiful villa, tastefully converted from an old olive press farm. Good facilities and well equipped. Additional cupboard needed in kitchen for dry goods e.g. bread. Advertised pool table was not there and table tennis table was child size. Approach road, up hairpin bends, very scary, and not suitable for large people carrier.

    a welcome breeze...
    Sofiku kindly welcomed us to the villa, which had wonderful views of both mountains and the sea, and showed us around the spacious property with more than enough space for our party. We spent most of our time on one of the large terraces, playing pool or table tennis or swimming in the pool overlooking the expansive view. The beaches of Nissaki were a short stroll down the hill, where there was also a place to moor your boat and plenty of spots for a glass of wine overlooking the bays. Sofiku was a wonderful host and answered any of our questions promptly, even dispatching her father to help us with a couple of wasp traps during our stay. All in all, a wonderful stay and somewhere we would most certainly come back to

    Sehr schönes Haus. Max. 6 Pers. sinnvoll, Auto unbedingt erforderlich. Billardtisch auf den Fotos existiert nicht, Tischtennnisplatte ist Miniatur. Haus wird zur Wochenmitte gereinigt, 2x/Woche kam der Poolreinier (1x um 4.00 nachts, 1x vormittags). Wer ein Problem mit Katzen hat sollte nicht buchen, wer Katzen liebt umso mehr. Katzen aus der Nachbarschaft begleiten jede Draussen-Mahlzeit, teilw. bis zu 10. Kommunikation mit derVermieterin über whatsapp sehr gut.
