Loved this retreat lodge. Well equipped, clean, beautiful! Kids loved movie room and game room!!! Kitchen equipped above and beyond!! Awesome place! Would definitely come back!!!
The cabin was beautiful and relaxing with a welcoming firepit outback and a outside bar area for evening entertaining. Or if raining a movie room with seating for 6 in comfy recliners. We floated the Buffalo River on one day and visited hiking trails for some awesome family pictures.I would suggest it as a yearly event.
This house located in the beautiful Ozark Mts. has a beautiful view. Each morning I was awake to see the sunrise over the tops of the mountains with red orange and pink streaks of light. The family enjoyed making s’mores and sitting by the fire pit. The foosball table was a big hit with the kids as well as the movie room. We all appreciated the large well stocked kitchen. It made it easy for us to prepare our meals as everything was available in the cabinets. The bedrooms located on each floor with their own bathrooms were perfect for our family of 10. The only thing we needed that was not provided was enough trash bags to get us through 4 nights and 5 days.
The only reason I didn’t give a perfect score was that the online description said there was a hot tub and I was really looking forward to soaking in it. I walked all around the outside and inside of the cabin and I did not find one. Also, we all had a hard time finding the cabin based on the gps directions. The gps takes you to Papa Bear Cabin. The faded small sign located at the top of a dirt driveway was definitely not eye catching and we all missed the turn and wondered around trying to find the address. One day we were outside around the fire pit and a family was lost trying to find Mama Bear Cabin and came down by our cabin and past it and turned around at the posted property sign. They needed help finding their cabin as well based off of their gps directions.
Beautiful location and privacy.
We DID NOT stay at Timber Lodge. Our rental reservation that was made a YEAR in advance was cancelled by the "host", TWO HOURS before we arrived.
We drove from Raleigh, NC, (2 day drive) and our friends drove from Austin, TX. Our friends arrived before we did and called me to tell me that the cabin was occupied. I spoke with the "host" and he said he would find us suitable lodging. What he came up with was two rooms with 4 beds at a motel 20 miles away from our original destination. No kitchen to cook all the food we brought, no laundry to wash clothes after hiking and paddling the river. NOT an equitable offering. I accidently gave rating stars but 0 stars would be correct. We did find lodging ourselves right around the corner from his lodge but at at much higher price point. We had to stay or else it was turn around and drive back to NC. This was "eclipse week" and this area was BOOKED. We were extremely lucky to have found the lodging we did. I have to wonder why the "host" couldn't find us that same lodging. I believe it was because he was looking for a cheap way out of the mess he created.
Our group currently has a case open with the rental company and the "host" to get full restitution for the extra expense we had to pay for equitable lodging. It is only the fair and right thing for the rental company and the "host" to do. NONE of this was our fault.
Our whole family loved this house! Each family had a bedroom and bathroom to themselves and plenty of kitchen space. The views from the deck were fantastic and relaxing. We enjoyed the firepit for s’mores, the media room for movie night and family fun on the foosball table. Everything was clean and perfect for our stay. We will be back!
Loved the location of this cabin! It was fully stocked with everything we could’ve needed. We made good use of the movie room playing games on the Switch!
The property was as advertised. It fit our group of 4 adults and 4 teenagers well. It has a wonderful view from the back deck. We made some great memories while staying there.
This house was situated perfectly near the centerpoint trail head and only a few minutes from Ponca. It was great that everyone had their own bathroom with each room. Would stay here again.
The property was as presented online. The views are lovely and the setting is quiet. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen. The “movie room” was nice and had a great movie selection for the entire family. Would highly recommend.
Just wanted to thank you guys for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin. That was the best Christmas we’ve ever had. and the only white Christmas we’ve ever had so far. even with the freezing temperatures we still went hiking to Eden falls, lost valley all the way through the cave with the hidden waterfall we went to Sweden falls, and of course Gloryhole falls 🤣. And the last day on Christmas day, we rented a side-by-side mule and went on all the trails most of them at wilderness rider, Buffalo River Park. That was epic. We will definitely be coming back next year if available.
