Friendly helpful staff. Things to do in the hostel as well as outside. Very friendly atmosphere which encourages people to tak to each other. You almost don't wanna leave.

The hotel was conveniently located so you could walk into como city, to the ferry stop or to the train station. The food was very nice, we had the hotel breakfast each day and also ate in 2 of the restaurants and at the poolside bar. The rooms were comfortable and well cleaned with an evening turn service as well. The pool area was lovely, great pool with an amazing view of the lake plus very cold so great for cooling down after a hot day. Would highly recommend.

Centre of Como, great hotel with a lovely restaurant and lots of other options in a short walking distance. Our room was a good size and had a balcony with great views up the lake.

This was heaven on earth with such a pleasant welcoming home feeling on a stressful business trip. I needed a central location, a beautiful homey place to stay and for everything to just be easy. No faffing about that you get with most Italian places, it was just perfect with the added beauty of a historic building with natural stone inside and beautifully / intelligently decorated. Ask the owner for a tailored dinner recommendation. I had the best dinner ever and he knew "just the place"....

The area is the best you will find in central Lugano. There is a funicular next to the hotel taking you directly to Lugano train station. The lake is 200m walk. The service is as good as any hotel I have ever been. The staff and very friendly and helpful. They helped me plan my trip to the two main Lugano mountains. Set on the banks of Lake di Annone this superb hotel was just what we needed. Quiet, exclusive & with amazing service. We had a signature suite, so we had a hot tub with a huge wrap around balcony. Our super king size bed overlooked the lake with double aspect windows, which was wonderful to wake up to. The staff were very friendly, helpful & accommodating. We ate in the Michelin* restaurant in the hotel. We booked our room very last minute & so initially they said they couldn’t fit us in...

Our stay at Hotel Ungheria was great! Good room with airco, facilities, great breakfast and excellent helpfull service throughout. A spotless and very well run family hotel. Varese itself is lovely, as well as centrally located, especially if you like to travel by public transport. Milan, Como, Lugano and more are nearby, including Lake Varese (cycle lane around it), Villa Panza and Sacro Monte. Fully recommended.

The hotel is well sign posted. There is an underground garage (7 Euros a day) which has electric charging points. There are free parking spaces nearby but as we needed charges we used the car park The rooms were well equipped with very comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge. This is one of the best places that I have ever stayed as it offers so much more than just a comfortable hotel space. The connection of Casa sull'albero to its magnificent position overlooking Lake Como is very sensitively achieved. It is a place that understands the importance of design and the simplicity and beauty of nature is allowed to shine through. An unusual hotel!. The bedrooms at the front are all glass so the blinds went up and down like yo yos. We were at the front so nearby houses could see in. It was a bit like being in a goldfish bowl To have any privacy the blinds were dropped but then you lost the views. .Due to the expensive local stone which lines the walls in the bathroom, there are no towel rails so get used to leaving them on the floor. The hotel has a chocolate factory and coffee shop at which hotel guests get a discount....
