Enjoy, Relax and Renew at Grandma Barnes Cabin!

Nestled on four acres of the idyllic, wooded hills of Brown County, just 3-1/2 miles from Nashville and Bean Blossom rests Grandma Barnes Cabin. Our charming private hideaway offers all the modern comforts you desire while retaining the rustic ambiance of a traditional Brown County cabin. Renew your spirits surrounded by nature at its finest within the walls of our lovely one-bedroom, one-bath retreat, complete with an inflatable queen mattress that can accommodate up to four guests.

The bright and airy kitchen and dining area provide ample sunlight while you dine, while the spacious screened-in porch provides the perfect space to unwind and watch the wildlife pass by. Delight in a romantic evening on the backyard patio while grilling on the BBQ and enjoying the ambiance of the surrounding woodlands at night. Your furry friend will find this retreat as welcoming as you do, as we gladly accommodate your pet.

Our cozy cabin provides a unique accommodation experience, fusing our original 1949 cabin with an 1859 cabin for a seamless blend of history and modern convenience. Please note that our cabin does have a steep driveway, so we recommend using a front-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle. However, with a steady pace up the hill, you will experience a wonder-filled stay at Grandma Barnes Cabin. Make your Brown County experience memorable and book your stay at Grandma Barnes Cabin today.

PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTY: There is a $75 fee per pet. Moondance Vacation Homes proudly donates a portion to the Brown County Humane Society when you bring your pet and pay your pet fee.

Perfect bday getaway
Our stay was everything I could have asked for. The cabin was super cozy and quaint. We loved being able to bring our dog along for his first vacation. Felt like a home away from home.

Beautiful and relaxing
We used Grandma Barnes Cabin as our base for the April 2024 solar eclipse and could not have been happier! The cabin and property were both beautiful and were the perfect place for us to unwind for the weekend. We didn't spend much time in Nashville itself due to the crowds in town for the event, but did a lot of hikes in Brown County State Park (some of them multiple times) and loved all of them. Best of all, the eclipse wound up lining up with a big gap in the trees above the cabin so we didn't even have to leave and fight the traffic/crowds to view it. It was truly perfect. The cabin itself was as clean as is possible for a rustic cabin to be, and was well stocked with all of the basic amenities we needed. Unlike some of the other reviewers we did not have cell service at the cabin so we were totally disconnected for the weekend, but for us that's not a bad thing. We had not been to Brown County before but are already talking about going back, and we will absolutely stay here again if it's available.

Perfect getaway
A perfect getaway for myself and my dog. I felt completely safe traveling alone and my dog loved exploring the grounds. The cabin felt incredibly comfortable and clean. No Wi-Fi but texting worked and the tv had enough stations to feel connected. Perfect distance to brown county state park…. And the town of Nashville was on the way which was a cute town to explore.

Quiet Getaway
The nicest rustic cabin we've stayed in yet. Had everything we needed. Bring firewood if you want to use the fireplace. Bring coffee. Nice/interesting primitive decor and antiques. A rebuilt log cabin which was really cool. Nice welcome book with information. We wanted a quiet getaway to relax over New years and plan out our next year. Very close to Nashville downtown. No WIFI, but we wanted to unplug. We did have enough cell coverage for phone calls and checking email/texts. The stairs in front are quite steep for anyone that has disabilities. However, you may be able to enter from the back, I didn't check that out. Steep driveway, we did fine with our truck. This would be a great cabin for summertime. Had a really nice deck and screened in porch. Would book again.

50th Anniversary Getaway
The cabin was rustic yet modern, so cozy! Close to Nashville with an isolated country feel. We didn’t spend a lot of our time outside(December)- but our Lab loved exploring the property! Magical laying in bed at night listening to total silence…….

Wonderful Rustic Getaway
We loved this cabin so much! It was so cozy. It had everything we needed for a long weekend. The location was exactly what we had hoped for. It was secluded, but still only a ten minute drive from downtown Nashville. The host was wonderful about answering our questions and getting back with us quickly when we reached out to him. Thank you making us feel right at home!

Fall getaway
This cabin has so much character. Someone really cares about this place. Loved the screen porch, local restaurants, nearby Brown County state park…the local distillery wasn’t bad either.
