This was a great place to rest with the family. Local scenery and wildlife were great. Close enough to travel to all the popular central colorado attractions.

Quiet Cabin
Very secluded and quiet area. Saw fox and birds in the area. Typical cabin. The fire places were the best feature in the cabin.
The aspens were in full turn. We visited at perfect time. The property was perfect for our needs. We did day trips from this location and were able to prepare meals, enjoy fire pit and the wildlife.
This home was perfect for our family and very spacious and clean! We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, hiking around, grilling and having evening fires in the fire pit! Well decorated and had everything we could possibly need! Thank you so much!
We really enjoyed how secluded this home was. Deer and chipmunks frequented the back yard.
Only suggestion: With no cell service we couldn’t text the manager and couldn’t find where she lived so, with WiFi, an email contact may be more effective if needed.
Better than what I had hoped for! This place was spacious, clean, and just as listed! The seclusion in the woods was perfect for hiking and getting away from the hussle and bussle. Caretaker had delicious cookies and brought us to her house to cuddle a new baby goat!
Highly recommend this place!
Amazing! Highly recommended
Great remote location. Nice and roomy cabin with all necessities. Very hot water. The satellite internet worked really well. We saw some huge mule deer bucks right by the cabin. The pine smell in the air every morning was priceless.
WOW! We ere looking for a cozy place out of the way just a little and this was it! It was very clean and cozy! Pleanty of wood for the wood heater that can heat that whole place! Its way bigger in person and was very quiet. We loved it! It was our 5 year anniversary trip and fell in love with the place and the area! Looking forward to booking it again!
A very nice home to stay in and a beautiful property. Not all kitchen stuff was clean so rewashed dishes, silverware and coffee pot. I feel we left it in good condition for the next guests. Was very easy working with getting arrangements made and check in/out was efficient. Would definitely use again should the need arise
I booked on our stay way out to Colorado. Be sure to download directions when you have service. There's no service besides the wifi once you get to the house. Which was nice for us. It is about a 30-50 drive to Manitou depending on what time of day you are traveling. It is really quiet and enjoyable! areteaveling

Family Getaway
While the location was lovely and the caretaker did an excellent job cleaning and letting us know about the property, we were disappointed with the property descriptions listed on VRBO which should have included information about the twin bed. The twin bed was an inconvenience as it was a small bed in the house up the hill accessed by unsteady steps. The owner could invest in better pillows for sleeping as well as a better stocked kitchen for eating and food preparation.

Nice vacation spot
The house is very nice and the location was good. One issue was when we got there about six the door was unlocked with the dryer running. My daughter was concerned we had the wrong house so tried to email Angela(no phone service) but didn’t get an answer for right away. Did decide it was the right place. The house was great but not real clean, not terribly dirty but not clean. There were plenty of cleaning supplies available. I would recommend staying here as long as your not real concerned with cleanliness.
The house is perfectly located outside of like national forest. We enjoyed our stay. We did have an issue with a gfi plug tripping in bathroom and keeping the lights off in the kitchen, dining room and bathroom. I tried getting ahold of the property manager listed on the paperwork but didn’t get a response. After I figured out the gfi plug was what was causing the lights to be off I was able to reset it. I still haven’t got a response from the property manager.
Excellent property at a very reasonable rate. Super quiet location. Everything was clean. Comfortable beds.
Communication with the property manager (Angela) was great. She did everything possible to make the stay as good as possible.
Very close to excellent sightseeing opportunities (Pike’s Peak, Florissant Fossil Beds, etc). Lots of wildlife to see just by sitting outside. Juvenile mule deer just lay under the tree a few feet away and let us watch him. Birds all around.
Make sure to follow the driving instructions sent by the owner. GPS will try to take you down a closed road. The owner’s instructions are simple to follow.
One small issue, the internet is unreliable in the cabin. And most of the time there was no cell service. But we went hoping to get away from the noise and busy world so that was perfect for us.
Worth every penny.

White Christmas
We had a fun Christmas weekend at this rental. The property was decorated for the season, and we enjoyed a true white Christmas with light snowfall the whole trip!
Let me start by sharing some of the unexpected positives of this property:
- It is a very spacious interior, with lots of open floor space
- The sunroom / dining room is much larger than it appears in photos (we fit 7 adults comfortably around the table)
- The outbuilding is also larger inside than you'd expect (we did request and receive photos of the inside before arriving)
- There is a lot of natural light from the plentiful windows, and the location up on a hill provides beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountain-setting
Next, let us share some insights we wish we would have known beforehand:
- It is not truly a 4-bedroom house, but rather a 3-bedroom house with an insulated outbuilding that has a twin-bed (i.e. someone will have to walk down the hill outside in the middle of the night to get access to the bathroom)
- While the house has beds for 7 people (not 8), there is only formal seating for 4 people (dining table, living room, etc..), with folding chairs available to accommodate additional seating
- If you are coming in the winter, make sure you have good tires (and ideally 4WD), as this is truly a mountain-access location, including a steep driveway
We have shared directly with the owner some of our concerns about cleanliness, but that would not prevent us from staying here again in the future.
We are four adult women who do “crafting” weekends a couple of times a year. The house was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room, comfy couch and beds.
Keep in mind - this house is “off the beaten path!” A few miles of dirt roads and a very steep driveway. (We all have vehicles that do well in the snow, so no problem for us.) The house sits at about 8500 feet and is tucked back in the hills north of Florissant - not really close to any stores/restaurants - but for our purposes, it was great. We generally bring enough food/drink to cover many days - even though we stay only three nights!
House was clean, kitchen well stocked with dishes, flatware, utensils, and pots/pans. Fire in the cast iron stove heats house up nicely. Property manager lives down the road. She was very responsive when we tripped the breaker on our first morning there. She came right over and flipped the breaker back on (which was behind a locked door - so we couldn’t access.). NOTE: This was NO fault of the manager or owner - one of our Ottlites shorted out!
Since it’s winter - icy/snowy, and VERY cold outside, we did NOT venture to the dry cabin. But it is heated and a very short walk up the hill from the house. It would probably be pretty nice in the summer!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Perfect for our group
Let me start by saying, this house was perfect for us. Family vacation, 6 people. We had plenty of space for all of us. Kitchen was large and had everything we needed to make meals. Grill was gas grill and worked perfectly. Nice fire pit area out back. House is very tucked away, off the beaten path, which is exactly what we wanted. We spent the days hiking and sightseeing, came back and made dinner and sat around fire pit. Can see all the stars in the night sky. We could hear coyotes in the distance. Cute little family of chipmunks live in the rocks out back. We saw deer on many occasions.
We did have complaints about cleanliness of the house when we checked in. There were noodles spilled in kitchen and the noodles lined the perimeter of the kitchen. Crumbs and drink stains on counters. Large dust bunnies. No bedding had been washed. We spent most of our first and second day cleaning and washing sheets. Majority of the dishes had been put back in cupboards dirty. I reached out to host and was told I would get cleaning fee reimbursed but that hasn’t happened yet.
Our toilet handle broke the first day. Reached out to host, they were going to send someone the next day to fix it. No one came. 4 days later still hadn’t been fixed so my father in law went and got the parts and fixed it himself. I messaged host and let them know we took care of it. No response.
Couldn’t use the dry cabin, as it was left filthy by previous guests. We did have use of the ATV which was pretty cool
