The location is perfect for shopping, dining and meeting friends. Facilities are excellent. Staff are very helpful. Buffet meals has a good variety of food both authentic and international. Can’t expect more from a hotel and therefore my stay was excellent at Marino BH

The views are stunning. The rooftop infinity pool overlooking the sea was beautiful. The access to the mall was great. The pianist in the evenings was very nice. Its a very old money type of property but the service and ameneties was great.

We ended 12 days in Sri Lanka here and it was easily the best-equipped hotel of the whole trip. The 53-metre rooftop infinity pool on the tenth floor is the standout: ocean on one side, city skyline on the other, and spectacular sunsets over the sea. Come up in the late afternoon. The room was excellent — very comfortable king bed, a bathroom with both shower and bathtub, and a huge TV. Everything felt new and well maintained, and despite the city-centre setting on Marine Drive, noise was not a problem. Several restaurants and bars on site meant plenty of choice without leaving the building, and the food was good across the board. Very good value too for this standard of hotel. A perfect last stop before flying home, and it would work just as well at the start of a trip.

The hotel is a great location staff were impressive. However we were never told about the building works going on extending the hotel rooms right by the pool area on the tenth floor. This which would have been an excellent tranquil experience was ruin by the constant grinding and hammering noise which never stopped. Also the levels of safety on display from the contractors working on it was shocking. No edge protection one worker nearly fell over a hundred foot drop when he stumbled. Not great to see, these guys were working for less than £5 a day for twelve hours. Debris and scaffolding poles did drop over the edge while we were there.
