Very enjoyable cruise, but unfortunately cut short by high water making it impossible to travel all the way to Basel. The representative/agent of this flat was most accomodating and fortunately was able to give us access a day earlier than planned at the going rate. We stayed for 10 nights and absolutely loved being in the heart of Colmar. To our surprise, we found it a quiet neighborhood for where we were at Christmas, and restful. It was such a pleasure to be able to take walks everyday - out and about the Christmas and flea markets; being located on the Cathedral Square is ideal! The train station was a walk away so one could easily travel to Basel or Strassberg for a day trip though there is plenty to do in Colmar. Highly recommend the Musee of Medieval Art - beautiful and extensive collection! This was our first Christmas not being at home, but the memories we have from Colmar made it a wonderful holiday, nonetheless. Having a well-equipped kitchen and washer was most appreciated and all the living areas were well-used during our stay. A sauna and spa-like room contribute to the vacation-frame of mind!
