Lovely to look out over the water. The room was clean and well equipped. When we arrived the check-in was welcoming and efficient. We were a little concerned that it might be noisy near the road but it quietened down by bedtime.

We had a lovely room. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a harbour view. The room was very comfortable. However we do have some reservations about how the staff communicate with each other in an emergency situation. We were there when water was pouring from a sprinkler being set off and causing flooding on 2nd floor, reception area , the lift shafts and one emergency fire exit. Being pensioners we struggled to get cases down the emergency stairs and it was difficult to find help. There did not...

You can park right in front of your room. It's about a 10 minute walk to New Town where there are lots of restaurants and coffee shops. I had a great night's sleep in the comfy bed.

One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Customer service outstanding and could not have done more to make our stay more comfortable.
Our room itself (Arthur) was incredible. Views over the Derwent (including from the bath), enormous space and generous kitchen. Would have loved to have stayed for longer.

Beautiful old home with a fascinating history all documented in books available to read. Owner Stan was so helpful, enjoyed good chats and the service was great - ample breakfast in lovely dining room with drinks available all day. Use of kitchen also throughout the day to prepare own food if wanted. Easy bus ride into Hobart if no car. Would 100% recommend.

The best time to visit Collinsvale is during the warmer months, specifically from December to February, which is summer in Tasmania.
During this period, the weather is generally mild and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 17°C to 23°C. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the area. The longer daylight hours also allow for more time to enjoy the surroundings.
For those who enjoy outdoor adventures, these months are great for exploring the walking trails around Collinsvale, such as those leading up Mount Wellington (kunanyi). The clearer skies often provide excellent views of the surrounding valleys and the city of Hobart in the distance.
Families travelling with children will find these months particularly suitable due to the comfortable temperatures for outdoor play and excursions.
