The drive along the Causeway Road was spectacular. If you go take time to stop and look at the sights. Castlerock is a beach town. Like that each couple had it's own bathroom. The big room in the entrance to eat and cook is perfect. 2 living rooms make sure you have your quiet place.We didn't miss anything in this house: Washing machine, equipement for hanging the dresses outside, chairs outside to enjoy the sun, 2 TV's (the weather was too nice to watch TV), ....The shop in the village sells everything you need. In the low season we noticed that restaurants are not open on a monday - but you have your kitchen and microwave: so no problem.We were surprised how nice the surrounding in Northern Ireland is: beach, villages, hiking ways, touristic attractions such as the Giants Causeway ....It was great! The communication with Stephen was good, information was concise and clear. Check in and out with the lockbox makes life very simple and no need to worry about meeting someone at the property at a given time. The location was quiet and relaxing and the property itself is deceptively large. It accommodated four adults and six children with room to spare. There was very little that we needed to bring in terms of essentials, all of these things such as tea / coffee, cooking oil, bin bags, cleaning products were all provided and we appreciated that very much. The facilities were excellent, cooker, dishwasher, fridge etc all in good order and clean. With three bathrooms in the property we were very well catered for in that regard. From the outside it looks like a traditional three bedroom bungalow but first impressions bely a cleverly extended home that sleeps 11\. The bedrooms are well proportioned and comfortable on multiple levels. There's two sitting rooms, one with a wood burner, and the heart of the house is a large kitchen/dining room with a large table that invites a big meal (during our stay we actually cooked a Christmas dinner). Castle rock is an unpretentious village with wonderful walks, a single bar/restaurant where the staff really work hard, a delightful craft shop and a couple of the most welcoming coffee shops. We were there in winter when it was very quiet, very cold and a little wet, but I reckon it would be a great venue for a summer break. That was just what we wanted.
