This is a nice hotel. Staff is friendly and willing to help. Room is small but cozy, simple enough for a nice stay. Breakfast is a buffet, plenty of choices. We will return next time we are in the city.

This is a vanilla “flavor” hotel. Nothing to be impressed by. Reception can use more training to greet guests. Not a place to recommend for staying.

Air conditioner did not work in the room, they had to change rooms for us, we were twoand they didn’t provide enough toiletries or towels for both of us, we had to go and get the towels from reception. The hotel needs a lot of work, is not that clean, and the rooms look worn down. The swimming pool he’s in deplorable conditions, even though that outside it was over 100°F this was a good choice for a hotel in a small town with very few choices but if this hotel was in a larger town these will not be my choice at all. The staff Was very polite and eager to help

Great for overnight stays
The hotel was good, we just stayed there overnight. It was clean, shower worked well. We had a wave runner and it wasn’t stolen. Nothing fancy but I think it’s the best option in town.

The security guard there was excellent and helped me a lot as I was suffering from a back injury. I just drove all the way through Mexico by myself and just started staying at City express’. They are clean, secure and really well situated in all the cities I stayed in. Close to restaurant’s, shopping centers and there parking is good and safe. Staff was friendly and the breakfasts were a lot better than I was expecting.

Very dissatisfied.
I never made it to Minatitlan. I had a motorcycle breakdown in Tampico and had to spend an extra night in Tampico and never arrived in Minatitlan. Hotels.com never replied to any of my URGENT emails to assist me in any way. I had to re-book another night in Minatitlan and lost my initial payment. Then, due to Mexican road conditions and poor signage I never arrived to Minatitlan the following night either and lost another nights payment (2 nights paid and never used). Hotels.com did not answer any of my emails to offer me assistance in either case. Very disatisfying.

Good for the price. Very cheep toilet seats and towel bar. In fact, they changed our room when we arrived because the seat was broken. But staff was very attentive. Okay breakfast in good location. Good, secure parking. Would recommend for a night as a stop-over when travelling, or for business.

Positives were the fitness centre, free breakfast although simple, friendly and helpful staff, ice dispenser and clean hotel. Negatives were the awful smell in the room probably from the air conditioner and their hard bed.

Easy Access on main thoroughfare
This was just an overnight stay, so we did not require much. Town requires a GPS to navigate through. This establishment does not serve alcohol, but they did make an exception for us, and has some beer sent in a taxi (for very reasonable price)

Sheets in our room had not been changed since the previous occupants departed. We were however offered another room. Unfortunately the only room available was on the ground floor which was extremely noisy as was close to the restaurant / reception area. Breakfast - awful. Reception staff just about friendly. We have been using this hotel since it opened and have observed that this year the standard has declined. There is not much choice of accommodation in Minatitlan so we may have to keep going there. I hope the standard improves by next year.

When in Mexico, consider City Express FIRST!
This is the 3rd City Express on my trip. I discovered the City Express in Reynosa and all of them are quality buildings, with everything working, clean and comfortable with great staff! All of the employees are helpful and courteous. The creators of City Express have created a great place to stay at a very reasonable price. Wake up happy.... stay here.
