What's a Yurt? Yurts are circular dwellings built around a wood frame, originally designed by the Nomads of Mongolia. Today they are enjoyed in a variety of glamping settings, coast to coast. Perched high above the Pigeon River, at the Wildcat Ridge peony farm, our luxury yurt--the first of its kind in Haywood County--features a full kitchen, bathroom, separate bedroom, living room with sleeper sofa, dining areas, wrap-around porch with a grill for your BBQ, and an outdoor fire pit with seating. Ringed by mountains, our Yurt is located on a small family farm that specializes in peonies (May is peak peony season) and cultivated fig trees. Wildcat Ridge Farm is just 30-minutes east of downtown Asheville, at the gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Nantahala National Forest and near Pisgah National Forest. We are also a short 20-minute drive to historic downtown Waynesville with its handmade arts & crafts, furniture shops, restaurants and bars. Spend your days hiking, white water rafting, canoeing, visiting the hot springs, skiing Cataloochee in the winter, biking in the warmer months, or taking in the sights and sounds of Asheville and Biltmore Estate.
