This place was beautiful inside and out. Looking out the living room floor to ceiling windows every day was magnificent. Nora and her husband are incredibly responsive and whatever they can to accommodate a pleasant stay.Definitely recommend this place!
Tranquil setting in the mountains, what more could you ask for. Property was clean and well stocked with everything you could need. Plus all the fun extras!
Everything about our stay was perfect. We went for a girlfriends milestone birthday. The house had so many nice amenities and touches (steam shower, fire pit, decks, rocking chairs). Each of the five of us had our own bed. And the views couldn’t be beat. Nora was so easy to work with. We were sad to leave. I/we would come back and stay here without hesitation!
Our stay at the blue house was nothing short of perfect. The layout of the home was so unique and with a house of seven people, this gave us more than ample space to break off into groups or have a bit of solitude if needed. The home was extremely clean, and had everything labeled. There was every amenity there you could think of. We had a private chef cater our stay at the blue house and it was an amazing experience with the backdrop of the mountain to top it off!
The host Nora was beyond amazing and extremely available to any questions or logistics we needed. I’m truly speechless and can’t wait to return!
My friends an I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely retreat! Away from it all and overlooking a beautiful farm with goats and sheep and a beautiful mountain view, rich lush forest on another side and access to a beautiful creek in back, the Blue House on the Hill makes you feel you have truly escaped it all. The pictures don't do it justice, the rooms and spaces everywhere abound in comfort and style - beautiful light fixtures, bar area, glassware, outdoor seating areas, nothing was overlooked here. So many details to explore and appreciate in a setting you won't soon forget. We loved every minute of our stay here and would go back in a heartbeat! Wonderful communication with the owner was icing on this cake! Comfy beds, cozy spaces, a fun pull down stair to the loft area, bring your food as you will not want to leave. Excellent stove!! You will not be disappointed here!
The Blue House on the Hill is the perfect example of a property where the photos just don't do it justice. We spent the first part of the day marveling at each room in the house, and spent the first meal we cooked marveling at how EVERYTHING you could possibly need was right there. The views were amazing, the kitchen was that kitchen that you dream about having one day, the shower was so outrageously cool, that we fought over who got a chance to go next...And our host Nora? She was so helpful and so much fun to talk to, that we actually raised a glass and cheered her name. The family is currently marking the calendar and figuring out how soon we can go back. When you go, please note the stained glass in the living room...probably my favorite detail in Nora's incredible home.
The place is amazing great views. The huge windows provide so much light into house . House perfectly centered around property.. every view from all 4 sides special.. So nice overlooking farms in front & overhanging deck in back where you are in trees and hear brook/ creak down below. Not only can you BBQ and sit under in rain and rest with outdoors. But during nice days walk length of creek right in the backyard. Really do not hsvd to leave . But nearby hiking paths great. CLImbing To tower . Stop by supermarket in town for perishables ( milk coffee food drinks some ice cream. ) Or just make samosas in fire pit. Don't really need to or want to go into town for anything . It rained & we sat and read in the gazebo and played games . Beds super comply. This place was our perfect getaway . Really had everythinv we could possibly want . We are 100% satisfied. Clean and so much to do . Definitely recommend it & if we Are lucky enough we will be back.
Four of us stayed here for my sister's bachelorette party and we absolutely loved the place! It was spacious, clean, had an excellent updated kitchen (the stovetop was so fancy, it took us a minute to figure out how it worked) where we cooked and hung out. Nora has all the amenities! The shower becomes a sauna, and one bathroom has a lovely tub, which my sister used to take a cozy bath! She has the best collection of teas! The view from the deck and front of the house was magnificent. There's a lovely brook running behind the property with rocking chairs overlooking it, where the sun hit just right. The fire pit was also excellent, two girls who weren't comfortable staying over drove up and we were able to do an outdoor hangout making s'more's and drinks! This area is perfect for hikers- there is the Denning trails 2 miles away and multiple mountain trails not too far drive- just what you'd expect for the Catskills. As a thought, it really is in the middle of nowhere, which we wanted because of Covid, but we didn't have service leaving the place or coming up to it- so screen shot directions! There is wifi but service was still meh- but perfect for unplugging! Being in a remote area, you need to come prepared with food. We did for the most part, but wanted food delivered one night and there is nowhere that delivers- not even grubhub. There is a brewery right down the road, which we did not go to, but most places are going to be 30 minutes away. The other thing to be aware of, is when we drove up it was snowing and raining, which can get a bit dicey, luckily we had an SUV and all wheel drive. We had an amazing time, I will dream about coffee on that deck for weeks, and my sister had a great bachelorette which is what matters.
Nora and Don have provided a truly restorative place, void of people and everyday challenges. Although my husband and I live in an area very similar to the Blue House, there is something about the setting that makes it special. The house itself does not lack one detail. Every need was met. OHHH THE BEDS!!!!!
The Blue House is a bit off the grid, so we came supplied with all snacks and meals. The kitchen was a dream to cook in!
For those who welcome a challenge there are great hiking trails just two miles up the road.
We will be back without a doubt!
To those who know the Blue House; with Wendy at the watch you know you can relax and let the world go by!!! ;)
Thank you for our stay!!!!!!!
We had the most amazing time! The property is beautifully maintained, indoors and outdoors. The location is peaceful and quiet with a great gazebo, patios, and fantastic views. Indoors, we especially enjoyed the beautiful living areas, large kitchen, jacuzzi, and steam room. The owners are so helpful and kind. They have thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and luxurious. They went out of their way to take us out for some very exciting adventures. There is a lot to do in the area, including kayaking on the stunning Neversink Reservoir. We hope to return soon. Thank you Nora and Don for a wonderful stay!
This is a perfect place for family vacation and total relaxation. Spectacular views. Great location for hiking, mountain biking, etc.
Nora, we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to stay the Blue House during the July 4th weekend. You
Will definitely come back again!
