We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean and welcoming. The only issues we had were the proximity to the main road and the AC working a little too well. The units were putting out cold air even after we turned them off. The location is extremely convenient but we’re hoping for a more secluded arrangement.
The cabin was in a great central location to Cook Forest, shops, and places to eat. It was clean and cozy with the most comfortable beds. We loved to spend time on the porch reading, talking, playing games. We would definitely recommend this property to others, and we hope to come back soon!
The cabin was extremely clean upon arrival. Communication was fast and easy. A wonderful place to stay. We had so much fun and made a lot of memories! We'll definitely be back!
My family and I had a wonderful time during the weekend we stayed. The cabin was the perfect blend of rustic and modern and had everything we needed for our stay. If you’re looking for a cabin that is close to Cook Forest State Park this is perfect. Would highly recommended! Thank you Doug + Steph for being such wonderful hosts.
Overall, this met all of our needs and then some. We loved the renovated cabin and the convenient location. We didn’t love how loud it was with the traffic zooming by, but it didn’t bother us enough to affect our stay. Our kids enjoyed the games provided and the cozy beds. We were a bit fearful of the loft area as there is a spot where the kids could fall over if they weren’t being careful. However, we were able to put the ladder up so they couldn’t access it on their own. Everything was pretty clean with the exception of some stains in the bathroom and spiders in the windows and corners of the house. Bring your own toiletries for the shower. We loved the fireplace and amazing front porch. We would happily book this cabin again!
We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend (4 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog). Had a great time. Perfect location. Right in the middle of Cook Forest; close to Macbeth's and the river. Wish it were set a little further back from the road but that's just personal preference. It had a large wrap around porch with latched gates which was nice for our dog. Cabin was a great mix of rustic and modern. Cabin kept nice and cool with a/c units. Impressed with hot water in shower and many towels provided which was nice. There were some ants in the bathroom but ant traps were already placed. Considering it's a cabin this wasn't a worry for us. Lots of space for sleeping but not much privacy so if that bothers you this may not be the place for you. I like that the loft ladder was able to be lifted out of the way. Pillows are very thin so you may want to bring your own. Quick communication with owner when I had questions. I've stayed in many cabins in the area and this was one of my favs!
Charming and well appointed cabin in a perfect location for all the fun. Very impressed with the accomodations and the stay. Would absolutely book again!
Cabin was cozy and clean and had everything we could want. Absolutely loved sitting on the front porch in the early mornings drinking coffee. Would definitely rent again!
My kids and I loved staying in the cabin for a long weekend! We had a blast when we were at the cabin and when we were out in the community. I'm hoping to make this an annual trip!
We had a wonderful time staying in this cute cabin! It was clean, comfortable, and cozy. And so close to lots of fun activities! The hosts responded quickly to a question I had. Would definitely stay here again!
We had an amazing time and the cabin was amazing.had all the amenities and is in great condition. The historical background for the cabin is very cool. The location is perfect too anywhere from a 2 minute -20 minute drive to all the popular locations. Also the amount of deer we saw daily from our own price was insane. I will definitely be back with my family and would recommend to anyone
