"Wonderful hotel. One of the best I’ve stayed in, in Europe. Think I got an upgrade, stayed on 11th floor, room was massive with stand alone bath, and seperate shower. Mini bar, coffee machine, kettle, complimentary water, and apples in the hall. Only had breakfast one day as had to leave early on second morning, due to Storm Ingrid. But breakfast was great, buffet with huge selection of hot & cold items. Definitely a 5 star hotel"

"Virginia made our stay a most pleasant one. The property is everything the pictures and description implies. Virginia and her husband went out of their way to be gracious hosts. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, intimate, shaded outdoor spaces to relax. Plenty of day trips within a short car ride. Wonderful!"

"Unfortunately, when we arrived at the property, we got the information that it was overbooked and that they did not have a room available for us, I made the reservation 30 min. before arrival. The receptionist's approach to the issue was not very nice, no apology and that I should have checked my messages, so it was my fault that I went to the hotel to check-in (?!). He reallocated us to a sister property with a lower star rating (Hotel do Paço by Vima Hotels) nearby which by the way was not nice and not even close to what we originally booked. They were not very keen in helping with the invoicing procedure, I wanted to get the difference in rate refunded and while I had to contact Expedia (who were very helpful) our presence was just ignored in the reception without even a glass of water. The receptionist from the sister hotel wouldn't wait for us, she was very rude over the phone with her colleague and left leaving the key in a locker. Having to deal with this after a full day tiring trip was not really what we expected. Of course, overbookings can happen in every hotel, that is not the point, the point was the customer service this property provided and the friendliness which just did not exist."

"The pool house is the best!! It is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area but away from the busy city so you can enjoy some peace and quiet. Virginia and family were so welcoming and made us feel like we were longtime friends. She had even made a salad and had food and drinks to get us started when we arrived. Very much appreciated! I almost don’t want to give the pool house a good review because I’m hoping to stay again when we come back to Portugal - I don’t want it to become too popular. Truly, thank you, thank you, thank you Virginia for letting us enjoy your pool house! "
