Decent hotel with clean rooms

Posted 29-Feb-2016
We got a good deal through Expedia for this hotel. We stayed back in May 2015 so things may have changed since then. The exterior is in major need of renovations. The parking lot has many potholes, landscaping is overgrown, etc. The lobby has been redone and seems to be a work in progress, as the whole hotel seemed to be. I could tell that this used to be a very nice hotel that had seen rough times, and then through new ownership they were in the process of making necessary repairs. The room itself was very nice, modern, and clean. That aspect I would highly recommend. At the time, the hotel seemed like they were only having guests on a couple floors as I'm assuming the rest were being rehabbed, so it gave off the feeling of this huge hotel that was mostly empty. Clean, but empty. I'd recommend at the right price and I hope they can rehab the hotel completely and make it a nice one.

Red Lion on the down slide

Posted 23-Aug-2015 on Hotels
A hotel that once was, but now is not. Maintenance and upkeep of this hotel was far below expectations. It is unfortunate as it appeared to have been nice in the past but simply is not being maintained.

The Worst

Posted 22-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Replace staff Replace staff
Location: Location fine
No wash cloths (after talking with manager 3 times), Reservations wrong, Room not cleaned after asking three times to manager, Staff lied to me when I first asked to see manager, said he had gone home and I had just seen him a few minutes earlier, Desk staff incompetent, On second day could not get into room after breakfast. When asking at desk, they had checked us out, yet we had another day to stay. Manager tried to apologize but his staff was making him look like a fool by not cleaning the room and all of the above complaints that we had. This hotel is in trouble.

3rd time not a charm.

Had to be moved 2 times because of dirty rooms. The third room had a bad a/c and a filthy hand towel... staff was very accommodating; the hotel wasn't!

It was not a safe area. Not a safe feeling hotel. Lots of shady characters about.

Bed too small

Posted 11-Aug-2015 on Hotels
We booked a single king suite for two people, and while it was nice and everything, our bed was certainly not a king. It was a full size bed at best, which wasn't very comfortable for two people to sleep in. It was also a super long walk from the elevators to the doors to get out of the building. The place is laid out kind of weird. It was really not bad for the price, however.

Service unacceptable.

Posted 10-Aug-2015 on Hotels
We were placed in an area that's under construction and the air conditioning was not working properly. When I tried to advise the front desk, they ignored my messages. The maid service said they would tell their management, and still no one responded. That kind of service is inexcusable. We wasted a whole afternoon waiting for a response. I even tried to book a room elsewhere and everything was booked. The grounds were very unkempt (weeds, etc.) The only saving grace was the pool was large, but the furniture around the pool was half broken.

the worst hotel stay ever....

Posted 09-Aug-2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: new ownership, uniforms, update the hotel.
Location: sharonville ohio.
everything was fine when we checked in...although you had to walk a mile to get to the elevators. we walk into our room that was musty and stank, the carpet looked dirty. it's an older hotel so i was trying to stay positive. but it all went downhill when at 9:30 pm there was a knock on the door...i asked who it was and the guy said maintenance. one we didn't call for maintenance and when i looked out the peephole i see a kid in a shirt and jeans. my husband said no we didn't call maintenance and he asks us to give him our names....really??? my husband gets on the phone and calls the front desk and she preceeds to ask us our name and says that noone was supposed to be in our room #, the room that they gave us at the front desk....we had had it, collected our things and decided we were going to a new hotel. they proceeded to tell us we were supposed to be in another room, and all but the front desk manager were unprofessional. we went to another hotel down the road and the guy there said we were the 2nd people that had checked in there with problems. DON"T stay here.....especially when for the same money we stayed at a beautiful marriot hotel. hate to be hotel chain snobs but we will never stay anywhere but known hotels that have good reputations.
