  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Accuracy of Information

It stated there was English Sat Tv which there was not The gite had been well renovated and in a lovely peaceful place but the bedding ,towels and kitchenware provided was v dated and needed renewing. There were quantities of old food in the cupboards etc which needed clearing.Lack of communication with host

Bon séjour entre parties de pêche (Lac St Pardoux et la Vienne mais étangs de pêches privés et payants), parcours à vélo (pas mal de reliefs), randonnées et visites culturelles : Oradour sur Glanes (indispensable), Rochechouard (musée de la météorite très intéressant) et Limoges (impressionnant musée de la porcelaine Adrien Dubouché)

Agréable séjour dans un petit gîte très calme.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans ce petit gîte situé dans un hameau. De jolies randonnées et des visites intéressantes à faire à proximité. Très bonne communication avec les propriétaires.

Pour les amoureux de la nature

Au sein d’un écrin vert, vous êtes ici au frais lors de forte chaleur. Petit jardin auprès d’un chêne et d’un noisetier. Notre ami écureuil venait tous les jours de restaurer à qq mètres de nous. Une pièce au rdc avec coin cuisine et salon. A l’étage, sdb et toilettes sont intégrés à la chambre (suite familiale). Des randonnées à faire dès le départ du gîte, une source à qqs mètres du gîte, des forêts un peu partout, des villages à visiter ainsi que le lac de saint Pardoux (une demie heure de route). Et si vous venez pour vous reposer, c’est l’endroit idéal !!
