Hotels here are mainly historic / small, which keeps with the island. With that said I loved staying at this hotel. It’s 300 years old; very clean, in the heart of everything, just feet from the restaurants / shops / water. The manager is on site. Being historic, if you stay in the top floors you must walk the stairs. I stayed in a top floor room (3rd story) with a nice ocean view; (yes it took a minute to get hot water but what’s the rush, the water was hot and you’re in a 300 yo hotel). It’s decorated with a lot of historical items and there is a very relaxed covered bar!). This is a perfect hotel for couples who want to relax, come and go as you please. I will staying here the next time I come to St Croix! It was a 1 minute walk to the pool. Hotel is somewhat secluded on the East End, which I thought was good but my wife wanted some activity at night and there was not any. We did stay Sunday-Thursday and there might be more activity on the weekend when the steakhouse restaurant is open. Overall, nice clean rooms, pool is excellent, right on the water but no beach or swimming from the hotel area. Public beach is an easy 10-minute walk."
