"The Desert Owl is very nice little house. All the little touches that make a house a home. Kitchen is well stocked. It slept a family of 7 comfortably. I am told even the futons we comfortable. The sunrise, sunset and especially the stars were amazing. You have to remember that you are in the middle of nowhere. "LOVED the location! It was perfect to walk to dinner and the cute little shops! Took our pictures by the Route 66 sign - and tried the root beer at Mr D’s. The house was super cute - clean and comfortable. Everything we needed. Our host answered all of our questions quickly and made the check in super easy. "The hotel has a lot of historic Route 66 nostalgia items and murals. It's a fun stop but needs a bit more tlc. The sheets were clean and room surprisingly spacious for an older motel style room. The fridge and microwave were pretty new and worked well. The shower and tub area had some older updates and the drain was slow to drain. I wish they would just go ahead and update the tub or maybe just installation shower only. The tub area barely had room to close the door without hitting the toilet.. having said that the sink was outside the toilet and shower. That was nice so you didn't tie up the entire restroom area."
