Step in the other direction and you are on a section of the Cotswold Way. Good location for visiting other Cotswold attractions. The designated parking spot beside the house was very useful. I was particularly impressed by the meticulous decor of the cottage, well stocked kitchen and comfy beds. We were only a few minutes walk from the high street where we found great pubs, charming shops and loads of history. There was a delicious homemade cake waiting for us, and that set the tone. The thatched cottage (once lived in by Graham Greene) is utterly charming and immaculate, and beautifully modernized (though tall people will have to duck through a couple of doorways). The beds are comfortable, the towels thick, and the refrigerator was stocked with milk, eggs and bread. Any question we had was easily answered in the instruction booklet. We were two couples who like to walk, and the fabulous public pathways started outside the door. The town of Chipping Campden is beautiful and the center of town is less than two blocks away. Be sure to eat at the Eight Bells Pub. The house provided great spaces to be together, but also lots of privacy. A perfect place in a perfect location with a beyond-perfect host. We never met Maggie, but we feel like we know her from all she did to make sure our stay was wonderful. ##### Sue H. Responsive host; perfect location with respect to village center and services; best village if you prefer smaller, less hustle, but still plenty of good services; cottage condition is fantastic; off street parking is a huge luxury; easy to keep the house warm when needed; everything in the house worked. It was the quintessential Cotwolds experience. The house is beautifully decorated while still maintaining its cozy charm. Loved the location and being able to walk into town for dinners and shopping. Its located on a quiet residential street but only a short walk to everything Chipping Campden has to offer, which is considerable. We particularly enjoyed the easy walk to the town's restaurants, and to pick up take-away from Tokes, Fillet & Bone or Da Luigi. The owner was incredibly responsive to any questions or needs we had (which were few), and the welcoming package of goodies was the best we've had in all our travels.
