Location can't be beat!!!

Posted 27-Jul-2016
This hotel is within walking distance to many cool activities, shopping and great food. The Bean was super cool as was the River Walk. My 18 year old daughter and I were in town for a concert. We felt extremely safe both day and night in this location. The hotel is about 5 blocks from the Blue Line train stop and for 5.00 you can catch the train to O'Hare. The room was very comfortable. I was not a fan of the dark halls and found them very dreary!

Not welcome!

Posted 26-Jul-2016
Pros: What I loved about this hotel was location. That couldn't have been any better, but for the money they charge - I need more than a good location.
Cons: Staff could be friendly, helpful and outgoing. Rooms could be kept up better and cleaned. And I felt like I was being charged to breath there.
Location: You can get literally anywhere on foot which was amazing. And if you aren't up to walking, getting a cab is very very easy as well as many other for
I was splurging on a trip for myself and my daughter (which is something I rarely can afford to do) and we came to Chicago for a long weekend and concert. Loved the city, but was very disappointed in our hotel. No one ever greeted us when we walked into the lobby. Just looked at us and kept talking to each other. We were never asked if we needed anything. One night the tv was out due to bad weather - I called the front desk and while they apologized about the storm - in a hotel where you are paying over 300 dollars a night and you can't watch tv - well, they could easily have offered us a free movie, but nope. I was charged for two bottles of champagne I never took out of the fridge. They didn't refill the two diet pepsi's I did take while I was there. They didn't replenish soap until the last day. Didn't even give us enough towels for the two of us. Didn't even rinse out the shower during our stay. Just a few touches could have made it a great stay but nothing like that ever occurred. When we left, the gentleman that brought us our car was very very nice and helpful. Wish we'd had some people like him in the hotel.

Perfect Location!

Posted 25-Jul-2016
Pros: Great location, cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable, great amenities, very modern and updated.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Right in the center of everything. Giordano's, CVS, Wildberry, David's Tea, Corner Bakery, shopping, and lots of sightseeing within walking distance.
Our already-late flight got delayed two hours, and we ended up arriving at the hotel at 4 in the morning. The man at the check-in desk was very kind, and asked us how many beds we wanted. I had originally booked a king through Expedia since it was the only option left, but had preferred two doubles. He told me it would be an additional $50 a night, so I told him not to worry about it and passed on changing rooms. He went through the motions and handed us our room keys, and told us that he had given us a room with two doubles, free of charge. That was very kind of him, and we appreciated it so much! The rest of the staff was very courteous and helpful when we asked for directions on how to get somewhere. The room was a good size, the beds were super comfortable with fluffy pillows, and the bathroom was in pristine condition. Everything felt clean, and I'm picky when it comes to that at hotels. We only stayed two nights but this hotel fit our needs perfectly. There was even a business center where we were able to check into our flight and print our boarding passes for free. The best part about this hotel is it's location. It's right on Michigan Ave and just a few blocks away from Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, Crown Plaza, Willis Tower, and a bunch of delicious restaurants and bars, as well as shopping if you go more north. There was even a CVS across the street. Plus, you can spot this hotel from very far and guide yourself using it if you need to. Would stay again for sure!

Weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel

Posted 25-Jul-2016
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and room was clean.
Cons: Entering/exiting the hotel, via the revolving door, pulling a rolling suitcase was difficult. Automatic regular doors would be an improvement
Overall, the stay was comfortable. I had a room on the 4th floor. Ice machines only provided for 5th floor and up. The hotel had a bit of a worn feel to it. The one restaurant has great two story windows looking out on Michigan Avenue. Perfect for having a meal or drinks while people watching.

Decent Hotel, ok location.

Posted 18-Jul-2016
The staff is fantastic. The room left much to be desired. Loose floor tiles in the bathroom that moved every time we stepped on them. The room itself was not dirty but could have been cleaner (dusty). There is no little shop for incidentals or magazines or anything. The Hard Rock gift shop has a teeny tiny section but was out of things that I needed. Luckily there was a CVS down the street. You have to pay for WIFI. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel where you have to pay for WIFI. The location is not bad just not near the main areas of downtown so lots of walking. Overall it is not a bad hotel. I came to Chicago at least twice a year and I have had better experience at other hotels. Won't stay here again. Thanks!

A fun place to stay. My only complaint was the condition of the curtains in the room. They were very worn and coming a part at the seams.
