The location was great vibrant night life, lots of dining and shopping. However the hotel was pretty quiet. Hotel was clean and smelled good. It is In the center of town close to many shops dining yet it is hidden and quiet. The staff was amazingly nice and helpful. The rooms are nice and cozy. My only complaint would be the beds are a bit hard but it is expected in Thailand. It is done in colonial style and is really charming. It doesn't have a proper restaurant, but it does have a coffee shop that also serves craft beer, and it is surrounded by local restaurants. The Nimman area is one of the best locations in Chiang Mai. There was so much character to the room with thoughtful touches and the bed was amazing. I especially liked that the toiletries also came in mini glass reusable bottles. The second floor has a mini snack bar and water bottles for your outings and I found the staff helpful and pleasant. As its name suggests, it is an older place with character. It is only a short drive from the city centre (the moat). I would certainly stay there again. Beware: the map produced on the Expedia website shows the hotel in the wrong position.
