The pool is what would bring us back to this hotel again. The rooms were very nice, but beds very hard, as seems to be common in Thailand. Our one other complaint is that there were smoking areas everywhere, which means that entire outside area of the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. Pictures showed rooms with balconies overlooking the pool. Our room had no windows or balcony or view. Building B was tucked in the corner of the resort. Room walls were all brick with window facing a brick wall and non -transparent glass. Very gloomy and dark! Breakfast was mostly Asian. A few days there were waffles or pancakes, but no syrup or honey. Meals are overpriced and no nearby restaurants so you are a bit stuck with it. Woke up at 2am to a flood coming from our bathroom ceiling and black mold dripping everywhere. Maintenance had to come running.... They didn't seem too surprised, which I take to mean it happens alot. We're renting the room with discount price, around 600bahts per night for a king-size bedroom, very cheap indeed. But we need to pay 200 bahts for 2 people every morning and night for travelling between the resort and the old city. If we joined a tour, the tour guide usually will pick the customers up at hotel. But all the tours(except Chiang Rai tour) told us that our hotel is too far away, and we need to go another place earlier to wait for the pick up.
