It was barely ok for the price. I found it noisy and too lit up... the curtains did not block out the lights from surrounding buildings--i'm sensitive to noise and light to sleep. I only stayed one night and moved on.

I enjoyed staying here and have rebooked for my return journey. Decor is very 70s so be prepared for orange and brown! Staff are friendly and swimming pool is great Food in the restaurant is acceptable WiFi is a bit slow but works. All in all very good value for money.

Beautiful and peaceful location right opposite a temple. Mr June was their saving grace, all the other staff seemed tired and bored. But Mr June made sure we enjoyed our stay and hooked us up with some great tours

not a good experience to stay :( :(
I booked the room for my friends and here they said " the room was ok type but the fans were pretty old and noisy."/ One night the fan broke down and pieces fell to my mobile next to me which broke the screen but atleast i was safe. We didnt said to owner because he was not friendly so we had no options. The area is better but i believe we can find cheaper than this and better than this"

Great location
This is a wonderful hotel with birds and fish and a relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately there is a woman who works at the front desk who ruins the great atmosphere by her unpleasant communication with guests. Being in this environment must be challenging since so many travellers stay here. I hope she will learn to smile or stop working there.

Lovely and restful lodging.
Lovely and fairly quiet rooms next to Swiss embassy and across alley from Wat Chiang Man. Staff was extremely friendly, all areas very clean, laundry on site and a refreshing pool! In fact I’m coming back nect month!

Hotel more expensive than average city ones
Very noisy early mornings. Staff cleaning with talkie doing awful sound, staff sleeping next room and screaming at night, getting quite aggressive or ignoring when reproached. The flow of water is very little in the shower, and heat very limited. Staff smily at day, but awful at night. Supposed to be 24 hours but sleeping majority of the time. English poor. Good food but coffee reconstitued and expensive for what it is (one dollar for dry powder).

A lovely atmosphere to the place. The staff were so helpful and very friendly. There's a small pool but not for sitting round. The beds were clean and comfortable.

Cheap Hotel in good location
The hotel was what it promised to be: cheap and very well located. The room was quite spacious and clean. There is room service every 3 days. We had a fan and hot water. It was what we needed. Only downside is a very poor internet connection. We were trying to plan our trip next and could not hold the connection.

1st time to.Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is amazing, so much culture and things to do. Lots of activities and guided tours available. Authentic food at great value. Massages are much better than Bangkok and better value too. I would recommend a hostel or guest house if you are back packing. If not then better to stay in a simple hotel.

BEARABLE HOTEL WALKING HANDY TO MANY ATTRACTIONS
PRO: Free shuttle from/to train station helpful staff however did not call taxi after knowing i was moving to a new hotel. CON: shower floor not draining always have pool of water because the drain is a few cms higher than the floor tiles Very small sink not much place for toothbrush brush comb etc. no light at the sink mirro no outlet plug Sink drains very slowly it must be partially blocked Sewer ooze from a cracked floor tile between the foot of the concrete sink stand and toilet bowl Poor window ventilation.. the fly mesh's lock is broken. My room was at higher floor .. the building is actually 5 storey high but no lift ??.... Room cleaned once every 3 days only Towel rail is loose The shower curtain rod is not fixed not/screwed in the wall .. they use a long expandable rod which sometimes comes off.

Only stayed for two nights. Room was clean and comfortable; would definitely opt for the air conditioned room next time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location for night life and sight seeing.

Quiet comfortable room.
We stayed in a room with fan. Room was large and clean. Bathroom was large and clean. Only problem was mildew smell in towels and bed sheets were a bit stale. Bed was a typical hard Thai bed but comfortable enough. Did not eat at hotel. Did not see anyone eat at hotel. Hotel had pool which some others seemed to enjoy. Very quiet location. Good value for room.

Loved having a pool at the end of the day. Hotel had a great location on a quiet street just inside the North Gate in the Old City. Very convenient to everything. Room was big but needed better lighting. Staff was inconsistent. Some very warm and helpful but others cold and unfriendly.

Very accommodating
I had booked and paid for 8 days but when arriving decided I wanted to do a few short to other places during those dates. The team was very accommodating to let me break the days up here and there and stores my big bag for the times when I went away. They have a great pool and restaurant making the need to go out not as vital so some days I completely just relaxed at the hotel and never got out of my bikini. Great price for the facilities available.

This Place has Seen Better Days
Hard to find. I had a 1/2" deep puddle of fetid water in my bathroom my entire stay because the floor doesn't drain, and they didn't clean in the four days that I was there. The pool is nice and clean but there is nowhere to sit near the pool--nowhere.

Wonderful stay
We stumbled across this place online the night before arriving in Chiang Mai. Started great with a guy waiting for us at the train station. The place is bigger than we thought. Rooms were large and clean, if a little basic. The thing that we loved most is how at home the staff made you feel. Lynn, lucky, nick and all the others were great. Food was all good, especially the hot and spicy soup. Location is nice and quiet but within a couple of minutes walk from the markets, bars and restaurants. Laundry service was cheap and efficient. There is space to lay out on the rooftop and also a small pool downstairs which is great. We ended up extending our stay as we loved it so much at SK house 2 and Chiang Mai. For the money you really couldn't expect any more from the places we saw around. Great value, great atmosphere. Would recommend it 100% :)

Basic but nice hotel
The hotel itself is a nice building but the rooms are really basic with no much comfort, especially hot water and Chiang Mai is cold in the winter. The great thing is its location and the staff very nice and friendly. Swimming pool is not on the top floor so never gets sun. Walking distance to everything but night market a bit far.

We booked three nights here after our original hotel was too loud. despite being in the centre SK2 is tucked on a back street and our room was on the side so very quiet. The staff were helpful and the airport shuttle service is very good value. There is a roof terrace which is nice for relaxing on, and although we didn't use it there is also a pool. Great location a few minutes walk away from some nice bars. bathroom was a bit grubby and the room basic, but to be expected at this price.

Pool was a plus. Next to Wat mun so fewer houses around than in other areas therefore quiter. 5 might minute walk to a good choice of restaurants and pubs. Basic facilities but helpful staff speaking good English.

Good location but bare bones
This hotel has few amenities but is in a good location on a side street and relatively quiet at night, as long as your room is not next to the table and chairs at each end of each floor where folks congregate every night. There is no elevator. The hotel is attractive from outside but the rooms have not been kept up. My room was not clean (my feet were black after walking around at night) and the bathroom smelled like sewage. I did not realize that room service was only every 3 days or I would not have booked this. I was given a single brown towel at check-in and it was not clean. The bedding did not look clean and I used my own sleep sac. The room had only one roll of toilet paper and I needed to ask for another one several times. The armoire had only one hangar in it. There was no safe in the room. The lady at the desk is very unfriendly and acted like I was annoying her each time I had a question. On the plus side, the lobby has a festive atmosphere and there is a bar where guests hung out and chatted; there is a nice pool (although with no sitting area); the breakfast (extra cost) is quite good. The room had a fan and A/C and a fridge, but no hot pot. If you are a bargain traveler and don't mind a very basic room you will be fine here.

Hanging at SK House 2 - in Chiang Mai
This was our second stay (2014 was the first) in this wonderful hotel located in a quiet corner of the NE part of the Old City (a one square mile surrounded by a moat). The hotel faces east to the morning sunrise and Wat Chiang Man - the oldest temple complex within the Old City and is on a very small and quiet street considering this is a busy bustling city. The hotel has a lot of repeat visitors so it is great to see friends you have made over time. We are traveling with the family which includes our two sons 33 and 35. In the evenings the staff provides some tasty treats as visitors gather around a small bar area for beverages and conversation. There is a beautiful blue tile lined pool on the ground floor and a wonderful rooftop for exercise or sunbathing or just resting. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful at all times. We look forward to returning to this wonderful place to stay~!

Would Go Back
Lovely place to stay, we would go back. Staff were more than hospitable and not far from the main "night clubs". The hotel is very well known in Chaing Mai and rightly so! Only one fault, the room has ants in the bathroom. But they didn't bother us much.

Brilliant location and the loveliest staff team.
The staff make this a 5* hotel. They honestly cannot do enough to help you. I'd say the hallways and outside of this building are 4*. Rooms very comfortable and clean but more dated so 3* All food prices were really reasonable. Tasty too. Laundry services also cheap. Good location walking distance to restaurants, local temple, shopping, markets and Thai massages - including the Women's Massage Centre that helps to rehabilitation ex female prisoners - A MUST! Lastly, a great base if you want to do an excursions package - check out June from ThaiIntro - he was incredible ! Overall, highly recommend

Good location but is due for a refurb.
Hotel is centrally located in a quiet street. Clean, spacious and friendly staff. The bed is a little hard and breakfast is nothing to brag about. Overall it was good value for money if ure looking for budget accom.

Good basic but comfortable stay.
Our first 'budget' hotel.... No problem! Good location, nice size room, basic but clean. Bed firm, shower powerful. Staff very friendly. There are safety deposit boxes behind reception, bring your own padlock. Would recommend.

Handy location by Wat Chiang Man, Chiang Phuak Gate. Lots of songtaews, tuk Tuks and local food stalls in the area. The banana pancakes in house are pretty good. RockPresso coffee shop around the corner makes coffee how you like it. Aircon and free wifi.

SK gets the job done. There's a bed and the room is pretty large. My room had a cple mildew spots on the ceiling. I think I would have cared more about the room if I stayed in it, but it was just a place to lay my head. Although I wouldn't stay there next time I go back.

Die Leute dort waren sehr unfreundlich und um 9.45 Uhr haben sie selbst gefrühstückt. Als Gast hab ich mich nicht willkommen gefühlt. Die Bettwäsche war alt, d.h. gebraucht und auch das Fußtuch an der Dusche war dreckig und gebraucht. So etwas habe ich noch in keinem Urlaub erlebt, auch nicht solch eine Unfreundlichkeit.
