It was a great value; the mattress was hard but comfortable, and the privacy curtains were great. I stayed in the women's dorm. When I first booked online, they made a weird comment about not renting to anyone over 40 (because of stairs), though it was only one flight. The vibe at the hostel was offputting, though. The host was lovely, though; since it was off-season, they included breakfast. I was the only non-Asian during my five days. (They do cater to Chinese tourists). I felt safe, and there was a non-party atmosphere, which I liked, though a bit uncomfortable as the other guests, with the exception of one who wasn't at all friendly. I would still return and consider the more private bed option.
