The Front Desk personnel (except female manager, who was extremely friendly) could use improvement in the personality area, especially since they are the first point of contact w/ customers! The property is very nice, well maintained and rooms are clean and comfortable. However, the owners made a poor decision when they chose the entrance and exit doors. First of all, they are unbelievably thick, heavy and difficult to use (open and close). They are NOT user-friendly and I would replace them. Still cannot figure out why it was purchased in the first place! It could not have been cheap! The breakfast selection is pretty good; wide variety and tasty. Ate dinner at hotel only the last night and chose the Caesar Salad; bad choice! Romaine lettuce should be chilled prior to use, bacon was hard and should be crispy and in bits instead of large strips. Dressing was more mayo than anything else and the croutons were stale! Chef should stick to Thai food! All in all, I would recommend Akira Thaphae hotel. Location is good; near restaurants, shops, massage. And within walking distance to the Chiang Mai Night Market, Warorot Market and Old Town. Laundry facility next door and super reasonable. Shout out to breakfast staff and housekeeper for taking great care of me during my stay! See you again!
