Peaceful Retreat
Wonderful and peaceful setting by the Hudson River. House was clean, beds were comfortable and fireplace was great. Caretakers Sue and John very welcoming and our kids had a ton of fun playing with their dog Ruby who has boundless energy and would have retrieved balls all afternoon. Just a top notch experience and we look forward to coming back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apartment is beautifully appointed - amazing kitchen and great room - and the neighboring DEC land is fantastic for walking. Our host was great to work with and Susan and John were wonderful. We’ll be back!

Peaceful getaway
This place was great! Honestly I was slightly nervous because it was an apartment, but it definitely did not feel like it! The place was open and spacious while being cozy at the same time. The caretakers that like in the lower apartment were very welcoming and friendly. Their two dogs were so sweet and the kids really loved them. The property was gorgeous, such amazing views! We went at the end of October so the peak leaves were gone but that didn’t hinder how beautiful it truly was. We can’t wait to go back, already planning our next visit!

Fabulous
Weekend excursion for my 60th birthday. I have been wanting to visit the Adirondacks and what a beautiful place to explore. The estate is right on the Hudson River and the views are amazing. The caretakers are more than welcoming. Willing to share favorite restaurants and places to explore. My fur baby enjoyed playing with Ruby & Pearl. Thank you for a great long weekend!

A cut above!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hermanus Estate! The carriage house is EXCETIONALLY well appointed with high quality furnishings, supplies, and decor. It is obvious that great thought and care went into creating a great experience for guests. The grounds of the estate are magnificent for taking long walks and just relaxing and enjoying the view of the Hudson River. The hosts are friendly, welcoming, and so helpful in sharing their extensive knowledge of the area. The property is perfectly located for visiting the Adirondacks area and close to restaurants and services but is also a cozy, comfortable, quiet retreat to return to after explorations.

A Lovely Retreat
Our family loved our time here. It was exactly the quiet we were looking for, and centrally located for the sites we were wanting to visit- Lake Placid, the High Peaks and Lake George. The hosts were exceptional, offering restaurant and activity suggestions, and made us feel very welcome during our stay.

Amazingly beautiful property
We spent the most restful, calming, and relaxing long weekend at this beautiful riverside property. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by John who welcomed us and gave us a brief rundown of the property and let us know him and Sue would be there if we needed anything. The house had every ammenity you could possibly need. The views alone from the windows of the carriage house were incredible. Walking the property, whether in the wooded area or along the banks of the Hudson River provided beautiful scenery, perfect for a late summer/early fall mini vacation Thank you to Sue & Ken for their incredible hospitality and wonderful converstaion. We will most certainly be back. Ricky & Susan
