So first of all the positives- the B and B is very centrally located, a short walk from the village high street and the main sights of the area. The breakfast was quite nice, the staff were friendly. Free parking also.
Negatives- This is not worthy of being rated as a 4 star accommodation in my opinion. The double room we were given was tiny- probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The bed was also tiny, myself and my partner barely had room to move in it during the night!
The bathroom was also very small, and there are severe problems with the water pressure in the morning. The water turns off midway through getting a shower- clearly there are issues with other rooms getting showers at the same time- unacceptable for a room which cost over £110 per night at the end of October/start of November. When the water does come back on, after standing around all soaped up for a few minutes, the pressure is embarrassingly bad. Same issue with running the sink taps in the morning to brush teeth/shave etc.
Also, at breakfast, whilst most of the food is served by waitresses, guests are still being allowed to help themselves to cereal/yoghurts/juice at a communal area. Totally unacceptable and unhygienic in Covid times to allow everyone to handle the same juice/milk jugs etc. It should be table service only, like all other food establishments.
Overall, a disappointing experience. I was expecting a lot more for the high price. The 2 star rating I have given is generous!
