St Kenelm; Sudeley Castle, Cotswolds - sleeps 4 guests in 3 bedrooms

Family-friendly cottage in Cheltenham
St. Kenelm is an apartment that was completely refurbished in February 2017, including a new kitchen, bathroom, and soft furnishings throughout. The apartment was restored from a paper mill to make spectacular accommodation with exposed stone walls and original beams. It is named after St Kenelm, who was a member of the royal family of Mercia, a boy king and martyr, who was murdered by an ambitious relative, and his body was transported by the Monks of Winchcombe to become a major shrine.

The accommodation is arranged over two floors. Downstairs comprises of an open-plan lounge, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen, and the apartment boasts views over the nearby river and cottage courtyard.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms. One double bedroom and two single rooms, perfect for friends sharing or children who prefer having some privacy!

Note: due to the number of steps, this property is not suitable for guests with mobility problems.

4/5 Good

A nice apartment, and good to have 2 single bedrooms along with a double.
Whilst most of the furnishings were very nice, the dining room table and front door could both do with a coat of point. Apartment very convenient for Winchcombe and it's facilities, and for nice areas to walk. It was unfortunate that a large number of cluster flies had moved into the property, were scattered across the property when we arrived, and persisted in lesser numbers throughout our stay. Apparently, they were supposed to have been treated to remove them several weeks previous to our stay. However, there appeared to be no monitoring of the situation to see whather the problem had been resolved. Notwithstanding the flies, we had an enjoyable stay.

4/5 Good

Great place to stay
4 night short break, 3 adults, everything you need and great location for visiting the cotswolds

4/5 Good

September Week Away
The property and surrounding area is beautiful. A very good location for exploring the North of the Cotswolds as it is only a 20 min drive from the likes of Stow on the Wold, Chipping Camden & Broadway. We had an issue with flies while staying and by the next day the property manager had organised for the cleaner to come over and try to assist (not much she could do as it was just so hot and happens every year apparently) but we were impressed with the speediness and the complimentary bottle of proscecco. Definitely would recommend staying here and the free entry to the Castle is a great perk.
