The best location possible to visit the Cotswolds- and stay right on the water! It was truly magical to look out our window at the river. We stayed 2 nights and walked to the villages of Lower and Upper Slaughter, and Stow on the Wold right from the hotel. Loved the history of the hotel and the people- were so helpful! Breakfast at the restaurant was a treat and made logistics so easy and stress free for our visit. Was a dream just to hang out and walk along the river!

Very welcoming and helpful staff. The hotel is in a brilliant spot right in the middle of the village. The car park is small and works on a first come first served basis. The hotel itself is basic but does the job adequately. It could do with a refresh as it was very "tired" in places. Breakfast was plentyful with lots of choice. It was expensive for a one night stay but I suppose it's the location puts a premium on the price.

We arrived to find the main restaurant was being refitted after a major flood from a burst pipe but the staff coped well and it didn't impact are stay at all. In general the hotel needs a bit of TLC but the bed was clean and comfy which was all we really needed for a night.

Dinner at the hotel was underwhelming.. Very standard pub grub and we had to get our drinks from the bar. Karaoke just outside the hotel went on until 11pm. But breakfast was much better - definitely gets a very good.

Fabulous welcome from staff on arrival and great service throughout our stay! Obviously a bit dated in parts but that’s in character with it’s listed status . Great location for the town with shops and restaurants all around.
