There are many traditional charms and character features which have been cleverly enhanced by modern fittings and a contemporary colour scheme. Each room has been carefully curated, a highlight being the bright sitting room with its roaring open fire and multiple windows bathing the space in sunlight throughout the year. The garden offers a fantastic extension of the reception space, complete with a sunny patio and large lawn. Two medium sized dogs are welcome to join, making Lilac Cottage a perfect getaway for the entire family. Accommodation This two bedroom holiday cottage occupies an enviable position on the outskirts of Stow-on-the-Wold, with a plethora of amenities, shops and eateries all within a short stroll. The accommodation is laid out as follows: Ground Floor Sitting/dining room Garden views, two-seater sofa, two armchairs, two window seats, open fire with fire guard, Smart TV with variety of on demand apps (account holders only) and six-seater dining table Cloakroom Loo and basin Kitchen Electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, cafetière, Nespresso coffee machine (starter supply of pods provided), washing machine, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, vacuum, clothes airer, iron and ironing board First Floor Master bedroom (Sleeps 2) King size bed, built-in wardrobe, hairdryer and dressing table with stool and mirror Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2) Two single beds (can be super king size bed on request), built-in wardrobe, hairdryer and dressing table with stool and mirror Family bathroom Bath with overhead shower, loo, basin and heated towel rail Outside Patio has outdoor table with parasol and seating for four, and steps lead down to the lawn area The Finer Details The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under) Bed linen and towels are provided Off street parking is available for up to 1 car 1 stair gate is available on request (travel cots and highchairs are not provided, so guests will need to bring these with them) 2 medium sized dogs are welcome for an additional £40 per booking per dog. For insurance reasons, Hen and stag parties are not permitted Events are not permitted without prior consent A security deposit is required at this property Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00 Lilac Cottage's back garden gives access to Oddington Road through a series of gates shared with the neighbouring cottages The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lilac Cottage. It is situated on the edge of the town but within easy walking distance to all the shops and eateries. The cottage itself is very well maintained and very homely making it perfect for a holiday cottage. The garden could do with a bit of a tidy up but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. Bedrooms are roomy, beds comfy and sufficient storage. Bathroom fine but low water pressure made for poor flow to the shower. Shower is over the bath. Kitchen has all it has to have - luxury items even. Location is almost perfect : there's a tesco superstore nearby and there are some very good nearby pubs you can walk to. You can hear the traffic from the quite busy road at the end of the garden, which maybe can bother some people, but it's very silent at night and in the day you get used to it so don't let it be a shopstopper for this nice house. Stow is great and has the best market place of all villages we visited. Nice garden with lots of flowers (mostly from the neighbours). If we ever came back to Cotswolds we would certainly consider to come back. Strangely no vaccum/hoover at premises. Lovely garden, and cottage gets plus points for being dog friendly, though not aware dogs not allowed upstairs till we arrived. Overall pricey but with few faults, and just lacking a few touches. For location alone i would recommend and I would stop again. ##### Peter D. Schöner kleiner Garten, gute Lage, alles sehr sauber, bequemes Bett. Gute Kommunikation mit Stay Cotswolds, kleiner Minuspunkt: WC unten bisschen Gerunchsbelastet und Spülung typisch englisch ohne Wasserdruck, allerdings ein Pluspunkt, dass es überhaupt ein WC im Erdgeschoss gibt (nicht üblich). Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wollten eigentlich sofort für nächstes Jahr buchen, unser Wunschzeitraum war leider schon ausgebucht. ##### Petra K.
