We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottages over Christmas, with our family and our dog. The accommodation was comfortable, providing everything we needed and the location was excellent. Thank you! ### 10/10 Excellent #### Jane H. 17 Dec 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Super pre-Christmas break. Super cottage, equipped with everything one needs for a perfect break. A Christmas tree already lit up in the corner of the sitting room, on arrival, was a lovely touch. ##### Jane H. Stayed 2 nights in Dec 2023 This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 11 Jun 2024 #### Peaceful setting Lovely spacious cottage, very clean and tidy, ample towels, and toiletries, only downside is that the settee could do with a deep clean. Very quiet, excellent location with private parking. Few minutes walk to Winchcombe high street, and easy access across the field to Sudeley Castle This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 29 Jun 2024 #### Excellent 5\* you won’t be disappointed. The cottage was excellent. All the extra little touches, welcome pack, milk, tea and coffee pods were all very welcoming after a journey even down to the mints and torches! Position was good to see the cotswolds and being able to walk to the castle was a bonus. We would definitely recommend this property and I’m sure we will return. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Susan B. 8 Apr 2024 #### Delightful short break with the dog We had a delightful stay at Anne Boleyn’s cottage. We are a family of four with a dog and we found the cottage very comfortable. The location was great as we were only a short walk from Winchcombe High Street and we looked over the sheep field with lambs. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage including torches for late evening dog walks! Sudeley Castle entrance was included with the stay and we found that really interesting. ##### Susan B. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Deborah M. 30 Sept 2024 #### A Very comfortable cottage There was everything that you could possible need for a short or long vacation in the cottage. It was ideally situated, very close to Winchcombe’s high street, so that in the evening you had a choice of pubs to walk to for dinner. It was very dog friendly, with superb walks within minutes of the door. We experienced biblical rain, but felt very happy and cosy to stay indoors. We extended our stay, and have also booked a return visit during the NewYear holiday. The communication with Bolthole was excellant. ##### Deborah M. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 8 Sept 2024 #### A comfortable and well cottage Lovely cottage and setting. Bedrooms and beds comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Seating in sitting room could be firmer and high but just our preference. Agent very helpful we had to adjust the names of people who were accompanying us a week before, this was done with no fuss. Thank you. There is adequate parking at the rear of the property for 2 cars. The cottage is very close to the village with plenty of places for a meal out, and food shops for catering ar the cottage. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 28 May 2025 #### Indoors lovely - outdoors disappointing The cottage was in a lovely setting near the castle and handy for visiting other attractions and villages in the Cotswolds. The cottage itself was lovely and had what we needed for our stay. The facilities were also sufficient for our needs. It was such a shame that the outdoor space was overgrown with weeds and was not a pleasant space to sit out, which given the excellent weather we had was a real pity. We did point this out on the first morning but they weren't sure if anything could be done for that week. Also the outside table really needs some work or replacing as it was also a bit scruffy. Overall we had a good stay and if the outdoor space is cleared and smartened up would have been excellent. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 3 Aug 2025 #### Beautiful location and a very comfortable cottage. Anne Boleyn cottage is spacious with a wonderful open plan kitchen, dining area and a comfortable sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped and a small outdoor area made it perfect for our stay in Winchcombe. The decor is tasteful and all finished to a high standard. We loved our stay and enjoyed exploring Winchcombe and the surrounding countryside. Free entry to Sudeley Castle was a great bonus! ### 10/10 Excellent #### Louise M. 7 Nov 2021 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Fabulous! This was a fabulous cottage within a group of cottages in a courtyard setting. The cottage was spaceous, very clean and has everything that you could possibly need - and is just a few minutes walk into the centre of beautiful Winchcombe. The cottage and the whole are is really dog friendly and we can't wait to return - just brilliant! ##### Louise M. It was absolutely perfect and a great base to see so many village around. It was perfect with the full kitchen facilities to be able to cook meals when we wanted to. The shops are only a 5 min walk away with pubs, cafe’s and food shops for supplies. We even joined the local community for a church service at St Peter’s and were warmly welcomed. The cottage had everything we needed and would highly recommend staying here. ##### Angela T. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 1 Nov 2023 #### Digventure We booked a two night stay whilst we were taking part in the archeology dig at Sudely castle and it couldn't have been more perfectly suited. Easy distance from the castle and town centre and fully equipped with everything we might have needed. The shower was just what was needed along with the large and fluffy towels after a day's digging and the cottage warm and cosy to hunker down as the darker nights came in over the weekend. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 17 Aug 2022 #### Anne Boleyn Cottage, Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe What a wonderful place to stay! The cottage was just what we needed in order to see Winchcombe and it's nearby villages. We're particularly impressed by Winchcombe as it was a place we held so dear in our hearts, having visited it not so long ago. Family have lived there and we wanted to return to see it all again. We love how the cottage allows you to enter the Castle grounds and you can wander off into the fields nearby, such as walks along the Isbourne River. Lots of memories and lots of fun, we will return next year. Thank you to the housekeepers who keep these cottages in pristine condition. Despite, on this occasion, being woken each morning by nearby construction work, we enjoyed staying at the Anne Boleyn cottage which had everything we needed. We also found Winchcombe to be a great place to stay with a good selection of eateries and shops. We’re already planning another return visit This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 13 Jul 2022 #### Charming little cottage in a courtyard setting This is a charming, clean, comfortable and well appointed little cottage set in the Sudeley Castle Country Cottages courtyard. The location is quiet and it is very near to Winchcombe- pubs, restaurants and provisions just a walk to the high street. You don’t feel like you are in a town though as the cottage is in a small valley on the edge of the Sudeley estate. To have free entrance to the castle was brilliant and we spent two memorable days there. It is a place the is very tranquil and the views are beautiful- one of the best places we have ever visited. It is also a good base for exploring a little further afield- Winchcombe and it’s meteorite and St. Peter’s Church, Hailes Abbey, Stanway Fountain, Snowshill Manor, Seizencote, Kiftsgate Court Gardens and Hidcote gardens. I can highly recommend Bolthole Retreats as a company. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Karen Kent K. 5 Dec 2021 #### Perfect! Beautiful clean and modern cottage within a few minutes walk of the town. Well equipped, comfy beds and great shower. Set in a really pretty courtyard and close to many walks Greeted with a bottle of bubbly for my husbands 50th which was a really lovely touch, thank you! Will certainly recommend and hopefully be back again. ##### Karen Kent K. It was spotlessly clean and provided a welcome pack as well as toiletries. The location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and also convenient for a short walk up hill into Winchcombe with plenty of places to eat and shop ##### Patricia M. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### Lisa S. 4 Oct 2021 #### Lovely setting and cottage perfect Cottage and amenities were excellent. very clean and lots of lovely extra touches with coffee pods and tea/coffee starter pack etc in the kitchen. Felt the booking experience could have been a lot better as when we called to get info the person we spoke to really couldn't give us the pricing until we called back with which cottage we had decided on. Then she said approx price and when we then booked it was another price £60 more and then when we got the invoice we saw another £70 added for the cleaning! We were going to a wedding in the castle so we had little choice by then and were very satisfied with the actual cottage and setting. Just unhappy about the misleading pricing. ##### Lisa S. Well stocked kitchen of utensils etc, tea, coffee. Maybe some curtains need updating. Very enjoyable stay ##### Mary H. Despite being under 5 minutes from the town centre, (the Studeley Castle Cottages were back from the road in a small complex) it was very quiet. We were a 5 - 10 minute walk from the castle which was ideal. ##### Susan E. Location is excellent. When we arrived some lights had been left on as a welcome gesture. This is a pleasant idea but such actions do not fit in with the current concern over climate change. ##### Gill B. Winchcombe is a good base to explore Cotswolds, Oxford, Stratford upon Avon. A couple of minor issues were sorted extremely quickly ##### Yvonne B. Set in a lovely village, which is well worth exploring, the cottage was really well equipped with all modern facilities and premium appliances Parking was just at the back, behind the small patio area. The beds very very comfortable with all bedding and towels provided The shower was great, plenty of storage in the bedrooms and full central heating for when it got chilly My only niggle was the vacuum which was useless and no mop for the floors Are already looking to visit again in October. ##### Simon C. ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [Broadlands Hotel - Adults Only](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Broadlands-Hotel.h2631331.Hotel-Information) > > [The Stag at Stow](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Stag-At-Stow.h15876871.Hotel-Information) > > [The Lamb Inn Great Rissington](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Lamb-Inn-Great-Rissington.h4592088.Hotel-Information) > > [Cave Hotel & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Faversham-Hotels-Cave-Hotel-Golf-Resort.h33410673.Hotel-Information) > > [The Plough Bed and Breakfast](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Plough-Inn.h12926879.Hotel-Information) > > [Architectural gem on an acclaimed Cotswold farm /2](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Architectural-Gem-On-An-Acclaimed-Cotswold-Farm-2.h98308927.Hotel-Information) > > [Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cambridge-Hotels-Cambridge-Belfry.h1103020.Hotel-Information) > > [Lords of the Manor Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Lords-Of-The-Manor-Hotel.h17766135.Hotel-Information) > > [The Colesbourne Inn](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Colesbourne-Inn.h3810136.Hotel-Information) > > [Traditional Cotswold stone cottage with wonderful views and log burning fires](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Traditional-Cotswold-Stone-Cottage-Which-Sleeps-People-8-And-Has-2-Bathrooms.h64401899.Hotel-Information) > > [DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-DoubleTree-By-Hilton-Manchester-Airport.h26104.Hotel-Information) > > [Cleeve Hill Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Cleeve-Hill-House.h22944864.Hotel-Information) > > [The Bell at Stow](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Bell-At-Stow.h35819374.Hotel-Information) > > [The Slaughters Manor House](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Slaughters-Manor-House.h790467.Hotel-Information) > > [Luxury caravan at Butlins Skegness](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Skegness-Hotels-Luxury-Caravan-At-Butlins-Skegness.h36376338.Hotel-Information) > > [The Greenway Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Greenway-Hotel-Spa.h520203.Hotel-Information) > > [The Wheatsheaf Inn](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Wheatsheaf-Inn.h1218872.Hotel-Information) > > [Duke of Wellington](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Duke-Of-Wellington.h44764080.Hotel-Information) > > [Saltmoore](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Whitby-Hotels-Raithwaite-Sandsend.h4276816.Hotel-Information) > > [Rising Sun Hotel by Greene King Inns](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Rising-Sun-Hotel-By-Greene-King-Inns.h63601.Hotel-Information) > > [DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stoke-On-Trent-Hotels-DoubleTree-By-Hilton-Stoke-On-Trent.h6788.Hotel-Information) > > [Old Manse Hotel Bourton by Greene King Inns](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Old-Manse-Hotel-Bourton-By-Greene-King-Inns.h3075291.Hotel-Information) > > [Splash Landings Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stoke-On-Trent-Hotels-Splash-Landings-Hotel.h1160988.Hotel-Information) > > [Pine Lake Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Carnforth-Hotels-Pine-Lake-Resort.h1928661.Hotel-Information) > > [The Slaughters Country Inn](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Slaughters-Country-Inn.h5484211.Hotel-Information) > > [Montpellier Townhouse](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Montpellier-Townhouse.h18167629.Hotel-Information) > > [Stylish Holiday Apartment - Gisleburtus House](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Stylish-Holiday-Apartment-Gisleburtus-House.h95472920.Hotel-Information) > > [The Frogmill](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-The-Frogmill.h23324533.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Tortworth Court](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-De-Vere-Tortworth-Court.h570412.Hotel-Information) ---
