THE BARN REBORN - NRP
This spacious detached barn, dating from 1650, adjacent to the owners’ home in Winchcombe, is the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds AONB. Ground Floor:
Living room: Freeview TV, DVD Player, French Doors Leading To Garden
Bedroom: Galleried, Super Kingsize (6ft) Bed Ensuite: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Gas central heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Enclosed garden with courtyard and garden furniture. BBQ available on request. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: No children under 12 years old. There is a large pond in the owner’s garden, and a step on the yard side.. This delightful, timber framed barn is situated within the grounds of Grade II listed Charingworh Court, which dates back to the 17th century - a year before Charles II claimed the throne. Now, it provides 21st century comforts, following an architect-designed transformation. Exceptionally spacious, but cosy too, The Barn Reborn is set in a quiet backwater away from traffic, and is the perfect place to unwind in and enjoy a relaxing break in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Barn Reborn is part old and part new - rescued from a state of decay. Now, contemporary furnishings blend elegantly with traditional features and sumptuous furnishings. The marble tiled kitchen/dining room has a warm mellow feel, with painted kitchen units which match the original rosy coloured bricks in the double height timber framed wall. The central reception area is glazed from floor to roof and fills the property with light. A wood-burning stove and underfloor heating keep the barn warm throughout the year. On the first floor, behind an open oak framework wall filled with glass, is an en-suite bedroom with a 6ft oak bed which complements the oak floors and exposed oak timber frame, which all add to the period charm.
An easy stroll away, Winchcombe’s town centre has excellent pubs and restaurants, as well as good food shops and many independent stores. Whether you want to walk, cycle or drive, The Barn Reborn is an ideal base for exploring the countryside. The Cotswolds Way passes the bottom of the drive, and the Winchcombe Welcomes Walkers website offers other, shorter options. Visit nearby Sudeley Castle, renowned for its gardens and as the last resting place of Katherine Parr, sixth and last wife of King Henry VIII. The town also has a famous pottery, and the GWR restored steam railway operates through the seasons.
The celebrated gardens at Hidcote, and other National Trust properties such as Snowshill and Chastleton, are a short drive away. Then there are Cotswolds towns such as Broadway, Chipping Campden and Cirencester, with its Roman roots, to visit. Explore medieval Tewkesbury and its abbey. Cheltenham is 8 miles away, and hosts national literature, music, science and jazz festivals, as well as horse racing. Stratford-upon-Avon, with its Royal Shakespeare Theatre, is also an easy drive. Shops, pub and restaurants 400 yards.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The barn has been beautifully renovated and is a spacious stay for two people. On arrival it was immaculately clean and there was a luxurious hamper of treats to welcome us.
The owners were super thoughtful and friendly, providing us with clear welcome information prior to arriving and on arrival too. The kitchen is well equipped and the furnishings are comfy with quality bedding and towels too.
Winchcombe is an easy short walk from the barn either via the road or the river, and is a charming place to be based. It’s quiet but not too quiet with some fab restaurants and cafes to visit - we especially recommend Wesley House, Honey Beas cafe & the Old Bakery. There are also plenty of walks and history on the doorstep.
We didn’t want to leave at the end of our week which I think is a great testament to how comfortable and lovely the barn is!

Just the most beautifully appointed holiday home you could ever imagine.
Just the most beautifully appointed holiday home you could ever imagine. The level of luxury and comfort was off the scale including a huge bed (frankly I couldn't tell if my husband was in there with me) and an amazingly efficient woodburner. Your every need has been catered for.
Winchcombe is a delightful small town and has an abundance of eating places. All in all total perfection.

We had an excellent week's holiday at The Barn Reborn. The barn is secluded and serene in the grounds of the owners' home, yet within walking distance of Winchcombe and the surrounding countryside. The owners were welcoming and helpful. We would have been happy to stay longer!

Winchcombe is a lovely village and has everything you need so you can leave your car behind each day
Winchcombe is a lovely village and has everything you need so you can leave your car behind each day if you want to. We had some really lovely walks from the Barn and found the area so peaceful and beautiful. The information provided helped us plan walks and other visits which was very useful.
The Barn Reborn has been very tastefully decorated and furnished, and it was very clean with a huge, comfortable bed. The owners gave us a friendly welcome and were helpful without being intrusive. They left a great welcome 'hamper' and there are books and DVDs which are always a nice touch.
I gave an 8 for comfort and equipment. This is partly just a personal preference as we are not keen on wet rooms due to everything getting wet when you take a shower! Also, although the kitchen is generally very well equipped we couldn't find a particularly good vegetable knife and could have done with a couple more teaspoons. This sounds a bit 'picky' but for the price we paid we thought these would have been welcome additions.
We did have a small area to sit out, but the Barn is surrounded by other buildings so you don't have any views at all, which is a shame in such lovely countryside. Otherwise the Barn was a very good place to stay in a wonderful part of the country.
