Whistler doesn’t have a commercial airport of its own. So while you can’t fly direct to Whistler, you can fly to Vancouver International Airport, the closest airport to Whistler, and transfer to Whistler from there. Whether you are staying at a low-key bed and breakfast or a luxury mountain resort, most hotels will be happy to arrange a door-to-door airport transfer for you.
A large number of quality airlines fly to Vancouver International direct from London Heathrow in the UK, including American Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways and Lufthansa. If you are travelling from another UK airport, you may have to stop elsewhere en route. There are dozens of different flight options and stopovers to choose from, enabling you to cherry-pick the combination that best suits you and your travel plans in Whistler.
If you don’t mind a longer flight, book a Whistler flight with a single stop. It’s less convenient than flying direct, but if you’re on a budget it could save you a significant amount – which means more to spend on skiing and après-ski! It also helps to be flexible with dates and flight times; Whistler flights that depart early in the morning or late at night are often cheaper.
