Maastricht is known for its warm and welcome atmosphere, with a great selection of pubs and restaurants in the city centre. Many of the hotels are located close all the popular sights. Vrijthof is the city square, right in the centre of the city, and it is home to several historic buildings, such as the Basilica of Saint Servatius. Concerts by Andre Rieu are also held here ever year. Not too far from Vrijthof is the Market and Entre Deux, the best shopping mall in Europe (2008). Other sights in Maastricht include the Bonnefanten Museum, the Basilica of Our Lady and Mount Saint Pieter.

When to Book a Flight to Maastricht Airport
Each season in Maastricht has its charm. Winters are cold but great for getting into the Christmas spirit with a cup of hot chocolate in one of the cosy pubs. Summers, on the other hand, are the busiest time of the year here, since July and August are the months of summer break for most citizens. Don’t let that spoil the fun, though. It is a great time of the year to sit in one of the parks and enjoy the sun. Autumn and spring are always a good time to go, since they are a happy medium between the hot and cold seasons. Just prepare yourself for the weather by bringing layers of clothing when visiting Maastricht and you will be fine!
Transportation and Parking
You can travel from and to Maastricht Airport using a (rental) car or public transportation. Just take the train to Maastricht, Sittard or Beek-Elsloo and hop on one of the Veolia Bus Lines. You can also drive there and park your car within walking distance of the airport. No need to worry about parking spaces since there are plenty available. At the airport, taxis are available if you prefer to continue your journey that way.
