The cottage is in the countryside, isolated and independent at the edge of a lake. Family holiday

We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. The location is remote and beautiful. We loved visiting the cows every morning and blackberry picking. The best part was definitely the pool. It was perfect for our young family and we spent hours there everyday. For families with toddlers, there are some steep stairs, we blocked them off with chairs and kept doors closed.

Family holiday

Very friendly and geared up for family’s, property's owners very friendly and speak some English but no problem in communicating with them. Food shops about 20/30km away and have every thing you need. Great adventure park with good activities for children at a reasonable price about 40 mins away. Would go again , maybe in the summer time to get full use from the pool

Summer Break 2023

La Pecherie is a charming property in an idyllic location set in beautiful grounds. The view over the valley to the village church is spectacular. The accommodation is very spacious and between the Pool room, swimming pool and large barn we were never short if things to do. There are no neighbours to disturb your peace and some great cycling tracks nearby. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Highly recommended.

Very interesting old farmhouse, highly recommended

The house is quirky, clean and comfortable for our extended stay of 3 weeks. The pool was excellent and the surrounding areas well kept, interesting wild life abounds round the pool particularly. The access was clear down the little lane and the turkey enclosure at the end provide much entertainment for the children and adults. The occasional sheep in the orchard too and friendly dog, Mia, and even more friendly kitten, Mouche, provided more welcome and entertainment too. Pascale and Jean Bernard were lovely hosts, and provided us with cheese and wine at the start of our stay, and occasional fruit rom the orchard during our stay. Overall it was idyllic. The hosts live on site in an adjacent building, excellently and imaginatively renovated, and at first their presence was a surprise, since the Vrbo information said they lived some kilometers away. Nevertheless their presence and accessibility was a great help. Jean Bernard advised us he had built a low wall in February giving them some of the outside space that we had believed for our exclusive use. A disappointment, but not an intrusion in the final analysis, though I do think the photos on the Vrbo site should be updated to reflect this. However, the kitchen is not well equiped for a cook, we were self catering and had to buy some things to make it work for us such as sharp knives for veg prep and a lid to fit the smaller saucepans. In terms of cutlery and tableware, it is very well equiped. I would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful week at La Pescherie. The pool, billiards room and table tennis kept us all entertained. The surroundings are quiet and picturesque. Pascale was very welcoming and we would recommend a stay here.

Peaceful Vendee countryside holiday

Lovely property with excellent facilities in quiet and peaceful countryside setting. Hostess next door is very pleasant but unobtrusive.

Dream holiday house

The photos on the listing do not do this house justice-it is just beautiful! Perfect proportions with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, huge living areas and upstairs pool room. The swimming pool is the highlight and we spent almost every day around it. Shops are a short drive (or cycle) away. This is a great place to get away from it all and have a peaceful relaxing holiday!

Grote (slaap)kamers, grote tuin met overdekt zitje, groot zwembad, veilig afgezet met ern hek en veiligheidsslot, zodat kleine kinderen niet zomaar het zwembad inlopen. Helaas geen airco, maar na een duik in het zwembad waren we weer afgekoeld. In de wijde omgeving geen andere huizen, dus échte rust.

Excellent séjour !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour ! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce corps de ferme qui est spacieux et très bien rénové et y avons passé de très bons moments : la piscine et la grange/préau avec la table de Ping Ping sont idéals pour les grandes chaleurs !Merci à Pascale pour son accueil !

Comme il y a 5 ans nous avons un superbe séjour ! Pascale est une hôte d une grande gentillesse et la maison est le cadre idéale pour les réunions de familles. Elle est spacieuse et permet quel que soit le temps de trouver des activités pour tous. La piscine est grande et chauffée… bref un petit coin de paradis. Merci encore Pascale pour tout ! Beautiful location, private and welcoming

This wonderful house provided much needed rest bite for our family keeping the teens amused bombing in the pool and practicing their snooker/pool skills. Perfectly located 30 minutes from an insane water park (a great way to wear everyone out for a day) and from the sea side. WiFi was a little lacking, signal only reached the living room and patio but I guess it is not the be all and end all! If you're a fishing enthusiast then the nearby river will serve you well with catfish, roach and some many other wonders! Tips for guests Take towels enough for showers and poolside. Bring your own tea bags! If you have room for one, bring a fan as the bedrooms can get very hot. All In all a fabulous holiday, we would be back in a heartbeat.

Relaxing

Property was very clean and comfortable. Excellent night’s sleep every day. Very rural if your looking for this then this the property to stay at. Pascal and her husband were very help when we needed them. If you’re into fishing the lake nearby was very good. Very relaxing holiday Only downside was we had to return home

Un havre de de paix

De l'espace et de la tranquilité !

Grande maison, grandes pièces, grand jardin, balançoire, table de ping-pong, une belle piscine. Le billard très apprécié. Les champs autour de nous, sans voisinage, au calme. Séjour très agréable (malgré le temps pluvieux)

Vacances au calme!

Très bon séjour dans cette grande maison où chacun a son espace et où tout le monde peut se rassembler aussi! La piscine a fait le bonheur de tous. Bon accueil des propriétaires. Délicieux de se retrouver à l'écart du monde, en famille, dans ce joli lieu.

Tout était parfait !

De l'accueil par nos hôtes au calme de la propriété, ce hâvre de paix nous a permis de nous retrouver en famille. La piscine était idéale pour nos ados et pour nous, adultes ! La superficie de la maison a permis à chaque groupe d'avoir ses activités sans déranger. Quel bonheur !

Vacances extraordinaires

La gîte de la Pescherie se trouve à la pointe du lac de Marillet en on peut voir le clocher de Château-Guibert au-dessus des arbres. Le gîte est un paradis de tranquillité et on a que les vaches pour seuls voisins. La région est merveilleuse pour les promenades et le vin (rosé en été) est bien bon. Sans oublier nos hôtes qui ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour encore plus agréable. Bref, on connaît un coin du paradis Vendée. Merci!

Ravis de notre séjour à Château-Guibert ! Belle propriété, spacieuse, environnement calme, à un prix raisonnable. Quelle plaisir d'avoir comme seuls voisins des vaches et des moutons ! Nous recommanderons cette location.
