Open concept was very nice! Lots of extra sleeping options. Beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing and the hike to the River was a bit steep, however we all enjoyed the exercise! The only disappointment was the air quality in the house! The vents needed some attention and it had a Smokey smell to the main living area.Overall a nice VRBO!
Clean house. Abundance of toys for the kids to play with. Ample room to fit all 5 of us with a close proximity to harpers ferry and with in day trips of DC and Baltimore.
This was an excellent choice for our family time together. Clean, convenient and nice place a nice place to stay. Owners helpful and supportive during our visit.
The interior of the house was beautiful. Excellent and very clean. However, the exterior could use some TLC but it could possibly be because it was spring and it's location. Our only negative was we all found the beds to be uncomfortable.
Enjoyed our stay, hosts very easy to deal with. The house was comfortable and we enjoyed the view and the outside spaces and kayaks were a big hit with the fishermen, however access to the river was not ideal for our family of mixed ages requiring a drive to access the water.
This was a perfect long weekend stay for two families (4 adults, 4 kids). Comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped house on a beautiful property. Very responsive and helpful host. Would give 6 stars if I could. We hope to be back soon!
Overall was beautiful. Very easy to communicate with the owner. The view was breathtaking. I’d definitely recommend this to my other families and friends. Thanks again for making our stay so pleasant.
A group of 6 friends stayed at the house to do some bike riding wine & beer tasting in the area. We had a great time. The house worked out wonderfully.
Rented the house for my 40th with a few friends. The neighbors were very helpful. The view of the river is spectacular. The house was sufficient and cozy.
Songyee was an incredible host, her place was what our family needed for a three day private getaway. The house and amenities were exactly as what was described and Songyee was very responsive to our questions. It is a beautiful, peaceful location with a great view of the river and mountains. We really enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river and definitely want to return in the near future.
We take an adult weekend once a year. We had such a good time. The house was clean, spacious, and exactly what we needed for a long weekend. I had to message the owner, and she was so quick to respond. We would definitely recommend the house.
Five women, three bathrooms; enough space for us around the table, in the main room, on the deck. Lovely view, lots of deer, quiet neighborhood. Central to the activities we had planned.
The house was clean and as described. The view from the deck was beautiful and I only wish we were there a little later in the season as the view of the autumn leaves will be spectacular. The s’mores welcome basket was appreciated!
We had plenty of room and enjoyed the close proximity of several wineries.
Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely come back.
Was able to use the cottage as the center for a family gathering. The kids and adults found a plethora of fun things to do. From toys and books to a riverside fire pit. Lots variety for all ages. Will return!
A group of friends and I had stayed at this location for a school event for the weekend. The house is located in an adorable, remote area. It had beautiful scenic views and one of the most beautiful ceilings. The owners were amazing as well and made the check in and out process so easy. Their communication was unmatched to any other. We were honestly sad to have to leave. We will definitely try to come back for the next time we have to come.
Friends and I stayed at this home for a long weekend. Zero complaints. Very good communication with host. Very comfortable beds and living space. Approx 15 minutes to casino and winery. Home is right on the river but be aware that it is a pretty treacherous walk down! However, there was a private beach in the neighborhood we were able to use that was AMAZING. It was absolutely beautiful. Would love to come back sometime
Fantastic mountain retreat close to amazing historical sites
Highly recommend we had a blast. House is very well outfitted and for our 3 couples we each had our own bathroom which is a glorious thing. Beautiful views, three firepits and the lake made the outdoor space just what we needed. The climb back up to the house from the lake is no joke not for the elderly but our group of fifty something’s did ok and it was worth it. I’d recommend and may even see about going back for Harper’s Ferry. Well done Songyee and Jeff we appreciate you.
This house was large and comfortable. Sitting on the deck with a fire in the Solo was so relaxing. The kitchen needs better lighting. It is very dim. And unfortunately the path to the river is very, very steep. It makes enjoying the river nearly impossible.
the path to p to the river is very s
We’ve never been to West Virginia, and picked this home based on pics and reviews. You always worry when you VRBO that the pics are professionally manipulated or shot just the right way. We can honestly say that this home exceeded our expectations and was a fantastic home base.
Got in after 9 hours in the car on Thursday and all the access info was easy and clear. Host checked on us and made sure we didn’t have any questions. Of course we didn’t because the advance part was clear and concise and very descriptive.
We were a family of 7, parents and adult children and there was room for all of us. One of the first comments was that there wasn’t a TV in the main living room. Two seconds later, after seeing the view off the deck, the spacious rooms and all that the area had to offer, TV was an afterthought. Made dinner for everyone and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the meal.
All slept well. All seven of us commented on the comfort of the beds and the rooms. Up early the next morning and made a huge breakfast for everyone and off we went. We explored and found that everything was close by. Hiking, history, outdoor adventure, or shopping in cool little shops. Followed the recommendations from the hosts and loved them all.
The walk down the hill to the river was steep but worth it. Beautiful and serene. We even took out the kayaks and loved it.
Cannot say enough about the house. Roomy yet cozy somehow. Book it — you won’t be disappointed.
The house had plenty of room for our group. We appreciated all of the board games and ability to spend quality family time together. It was a bit of a hike to get to the river, but absolutely beautiful when you got there.
We and our friends have traveled to many vacation rentals over the last 10 years and we all agreed that this rental in particular ranked among the top sites. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the common area and how comfortable everything was. Our host was prompt with her replies, which we greatly appreciated.
