The apartment is on the edge of the village of Argentière, close to the forest, but just a short walk from all the amenities. The cable car for Les Grands Montets skiing area is a 2-minute drive or a 6-minute walk. Argentière railway station for the Mont-Blanc-Express is just a 6-minute walk away. The nearby slopes are ideal for intermediate and experienced skiers. Some higher slopes offer skiing later in the season, sometimes up to early May. All the facilities of the Chamonix region are on your doorstep. I had spent the previous night sleeping in my car so anything was an improvement on that. The presence of a set of acrobat’s rings is slightly unusual and there is enough tea in the apartment to keep you going for a year or two. Also the windows are so small that it is impossible to check the weather without leaving the building and if you manage to avoid hitting your head or falling down the stairs you will doing better than I did!
