![Probably one of the best views over my soul-city. And definitely my favourite.
Here-- the old buildings in the centre of Brasov, the Black Church, and Muresenilor Street turning into George Baritiu Street (continued as two other streets) and going all the way to our oldest neighbourhood, Schei -pictured through the small mysterious lights in the background-. All snowed-in. :)

![Catherine's Gate in Brasov, Romania. It was built by the Tailors’ Guild in 1559 for defensive purposes instead of an old gate destroyed by the flood in 1526. It is named after St. Catherine's Monastery that was situated there in former times. It is the only original city gate to have survived from medieval times. In fact the central tower is only a part of the original gate. Documents talk about the existence of a wooden structure which was demolished in 1827. Its location gave us easy access to everything we wanted…dining, shopping, and tourist attractions. The price was fantastic and it included an excellent breakfast. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very professional. I highly recommend that this is a MUST stay. Just remember to reach out to hotel before going to reserve a parking spot as there are only two dedicated to the hotel. We were lucky as we went on a Sunday afternoon and found a spot in front of the hotel that is paid to the city. Fabulous hotel and I will stay there again on my next trip to Braşov. "
