Palagnedra is located in the Centovalli (650 m above sea level), 15 km west of Locarno, on a sunny southeast-facing terrace above a picturesque reservoir. It is one of the most distinctive mountains in the canton of Ticino; its church, dedicated to St. Michael, dates back to the 1230s, although it was rebuilt in 1732.

Locarno is a city in Ticino that overlooks the shores of Lake Maggiore, also known as the Swiss Gulf of Verbano (Italy). During the first two weeks of August, Locarno hosts the International Film Festival, which, along with those in Cannes, Venice, and Berlin, is one of the most important in Europe. In less than half an hour, you can experience both the mountains and life on the lake, which is also home to the beautiful Brissago Islands.

Palagnedra can be reached by car or by train via the Centovallina line (on a route that was described in the fall as one of the most beautiful journeys in Europe). The entire valley offers hundreds of different hiking trails as well as several cable cars to reach enchanting places like the Monti di Comino (where you can enjoy a wonderful llama trek) or Rasa.
