The best area to stay in Castrejon is the historic Old Town, particularly around Plaza Mayor and the streets radiating from it.

This central area is the heart of Castrejon, characterized by its traditional Castilian architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and a relaxed pace. Plaza Mayor is the main square, a beautiful open space lined with arcaded buildings, cafes, and shops. Many of Castrejon's most popular historic buildings, such as the Collegiate Church of San Antolín, are just a short stroll away.

For couples seeking a romantic and culturally rich experience, the Old Town is an excellent choice. You'll find boutique hotels tucked away in historic buildings, offering a sense of place and easy access to evening strolls, traditional tapas bars, and local artisan shops. It's a wonderful area for experiencing the town's heritage firsthand.

Families with older children will also appreciate the Old Town for its pedestrian-friendly environment and proximity to local attractions. Exploring the ancient castle ruins, visiting the local museums, or simply enjoying an ice cream in the square are all convenient from this central base.

The best time to go to Castrejon is during the late spring (May-June) or early autumn (September-October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, which is ideal for exploring the historic sites and engaging in outdoor activities. The countryside is particularly beautiful in spring with blooming wildflowers, and in autumn with changing leaf colours, making it great for scenic drives and walks.

Couples looking for a romantic and relaxed getaway will find these periods especially appealing. You can enjoy leisurely strolls through Castrejon's historic centre, dine al fresco at local restaurants, and visit nearby vineyards without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. The fewer crowds also mean a more intimate experience at attractions like the Castrejon Castle or the ancient Roman bridge.

For those interested in cultural exploration, these shoulder seasons often coincide with local festivals and events, offering a genuine insight into Castrejon's traditions.
