For the cost, it was adequate. Only needed one night. Room is outdated but was decently clean. Our smoke detectors went off around 1am. We jumped up to check everything and smelled weed. The room next to us was somewhat loud and up most of the night. Obviously smoking weed. At that point I honestly didn’t feel very safe.

Booked a 3 night stay and paid at the time of booking. 13 hours into a 15 hour trip I get a phone call saying that other guests had decided to stay another night, so my room wasn't available and we would have to go into the only room Available, which was a smoking room. As someone with asthma, this was a very bad thing. His solution was to give a whopping $20 off ONE night and a guarantee of a NS room the last 2 nights. After a couple of hours in the room, I had an asthma attack and ended up just sleeping in my truck in the parking lot. Some money well spent there.... Then the parking there.... It's nothing but weekly workers staying there with big box trucks parked in the tiny lot. It's hard to park anywhere without having the realistic worry of getting backed into by someone. Showers had very little water pressure, the bathroom door wouldn't latch or stay shut without putting something against it and the entry door was so loose that you could see outside around it. Spend the extra $20 and stay at a decent place in town. The ONLY reason I even gave a 3 was because the second room was clean and people were nice.

We had a concert to go to at downtown, Rome, but all decent hotels are sold-out in downtown area. So, we stayed at Kings Inn, which had a good review and rating compared to other comps for $80. However, our experience made us wonder if this hotel has 8.6-10-point star, all other comp hotels rated a lot lower must be really bad in many ways. The entrance was a bit confusing. There are two doors to get to the front desk. A small secuirty-office like area with window on your right, then you need to open the other door in front of you to get to the front desk area. I don't remember booking a smoking room but I guess I did (I didn't know there are hotels still offering smoking rooms). I couldn't change our preference at the front desk, so we stayed in the smoking room, which was awful. TV was working and had a good selection. The AC was BROKEN or set at 80s degree by default. It was turned on when the room temprature reached almost unbearable heat. There was no way to control the temperature. The fridge was working but VERY noisy. With the high temp and noisy fridge, we couldn't sleep much. There was cigarette ash on the bathroom floor. The towels were clean (I guess) but all yellowish or grayish. There is no uber or lyft. It was $15 at first, then went up $60 for 8-min drive, but still no ride. it is inconvenient place if you are planning to go to downtown.

Good stay

For the price you cannot beat this place. Comfy bed, couch, and the heat works well. Clean and seems to be pretty well taken care of. I believe it’s family owned and operated.
