The house is located across the street from the ocean, with the front door only a few steps from the public beach access. There is 2700 square feet of living area. A public walkway to the beach is almost directly across the street from the house, and this is not a busy street as this end of the island is all residential. The views of the beach and the canal are so beautiful and relaxing. It is a rare treat to have both in one property. Watch the sun rise and set from any room in the house. When looking at the photo of the house, the left side is Unit #1\. There are six covered porches with access from every floor to both the ocean view and the canal view! The elevator services all 4 floors, from the carport to the top floor. This elevator is provided as a convenience. Full size wheel chairs do not fit easily, and not recommended. There is a security camera in the elevator interior cab. Bed linens and bath towels are included with the rental. There are 8 bath setups, each setup is 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth. The beds will have fresh linens installed (1 king, 4 queen, 1 twin). The first floor has a recreation room with a poker table, combination air hockey & Pool table, 46' HD TV and a sleeper sofa. There is also a private bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed, and a private deck overlooking the sound There is a common bath between the recreation room and the bedroom. The washer and dryer are located in the hallway. The middle floor has a family room with a gas fireplace, and home theater setup, consisting of 46' LED television with a bluray player, digital cable service. and iPhone/android ready receiver with dolby 5-channel home theater system. Adjacent in the open floor plan is the kitchen, dining room and breakfast bar, pantry and private deck overlooking the ocean. There is also a bedroom with a queen bed, bath, and private deck overlooking the sound. The third floor has 2 master suites. The first has a king bed, over size 'chair and half' which also pulls out to a twin sleeper, 42' television with digital cable, huge Jacuzzi tub and separate shower stall. The best feature is the large deck overlooking the ocean. The ocean views are really nice from this room and sunrises are just amazing. There is a double futon in the hallway sitting area and elevator access. The second master bedroom has two queen beds and a private bath, This bedroom also has a deck overlooking the sound with impressive views of canal sunsets. All bedrooms have flat screen televisions with cable service, and variable speed ceiling fans. There is a private heated pool (shared only with the adjacent sister unit). The pool is open mid-march through October. Pool heat is available in the shoulder seasons as an option. There is a large deck area and plenty of patio furniture. Adjacent there are 2 shower stalls and a 1/2 bath. An outdoor stereo allows tuning the local FM stations, or streaming music from your personal device. The storage area in the carport we try to keep plenty of beach & water toys for the kids. The pool area also has a built-in charcoal grill with 2 separate cooking surfaces (one smaller, one very large). Worth mentioning is the water system upgrades to this house. The kitchen has a high end reverse osmosis water filtration system to supply cooking and drinking water. (No need to purchase distilled water.) There is also whole house water softener system to provide high quality water for all guests. Another issue with beach water is low water pressure. That has been addressed by installing a pressure booster system so multiple showers can be going at the same time. This house was built for the enjoyment of our family and yours. It is extremely well built with nothing spared, and impeccably maintained. Come and enjoy the fabulous views of both the ocean and the canal. Sit on the front decks and see and hear the ocean roar. Watch the sun set against the sailboat silhouettes in the canal. This house is an absolute dream! The pool is a special amenity and can be heated in the shoulder season, or even year round. There is a large built in BBQ pit for cookouts (and cocktails) on pleasant summer evenings. \*\*\*Families and responsible adults ONLY need inquire\*\*\* Thanks for considering beach home for your vacation! Answer: YES! beach access is almost directly across the front door. The Carolina Beach board walk is about 1 mile south, and Freeman Park and CB pier is 1/2 mile north. There is a manned life guard station in the summer months. 3) What days do the weekly rentals start? During peak summer months, this is strictly a Saturday-to-Saturday rental. Off peak is more flexible and weekly rentals can most likely start on any day you prefer. 4) What are check-in and check-out times? Answer: Standard check in: 4pm, and standard check out: 11pm. 5) Can we have an early check-in, or late check-out? Answer: during peak season (summer months) occupancy is 100% so this is most likely not an option. There was plenty of room for our large family. It was so nice to have the elevator. The kitchen could definitely use more dishes and silverware. The pool was a big hit with the whole family. I especially appreciated that it was maintained by a pool company several times during our stay, making sure it was clean and safe for us. The very short walk to the beach made carrying our stuff so much easier. Dennis was very quick to answer any questions I had before our stay. Housekeeping could have done a better job. Our host was awesome! Very easy to work with and reply’s promptly. Location is perfect for our entire family with the access directly across the road since my husband is in a wheelchair. Lots of walking steps though because elevator was not working properly. The pool was nice for the two small children and we had good neighbors in other duplex sharing for a few days. This is the second year in a row we stayed at this same house, we love it!!! The elevator is a lifesaver, the location is AMAZING, within 30 seconds of the beach, within 5 minutes of tons of restaurants and 2 minutes from the boardwalk! We love all of the decks with amazing views of the Ocean or Bay, we usually congregated on the middle deck (off of the living room) facing the ocean. The kitchen is large and there is a large dining room table for eating or playing games. The Air Hockey/Pool table is awesome, the kids spent a lot of time there and in the really nice and large pool! Plenty of room for everyone. We have a disabled daughter so the elevator was a plus! Outdoor pool was great especially because surf was high so the little ones could only splash around on shore. Furnishings are very dated (One of the two supplied baby gates was broken) and housekeeping could be improved.Electronic lock wouldn’t work the main door but worked for elevators access. Host was very responsive and gave us access to a key very quickly. People came to fix the lock the next day but didn’t have the battery needed and were supposed to return next day not sure if they did we just used elevator and key for rest of our stay. ##### Madelyn C. Although this time we didn't get to utilize the pool space or the beach due to the time of the year and weather, we absolutely loved having a nice comfy space to enjoy our family, those of which we all traveled a good distance to be together. It was a bit unfortunate to see the for-sale sign outside the property, we did wonder how that could affect us indirectly. We did notice things were a little more dated than we last remembered (couches a little worn down, comforters had bleach stains) but the space overall was welcoming and the kitchen was stocked with extra pots and pans which really came in handy. We loved the toaster because it allowed for more than 2 slices of bread to be toasted at once. & the elevator saved our lives (great auntie just had hip surgery a few weeks back, and another family member with leg/foot pain). Overall, we hope that in the future if the dates are right, this property will still be available, thank you. ##### Alexandria C. We chose for the bedroom/bathroom layout and it gave every one privacy. The porches were safe for the toddler to explore, which he just loved. We were able to use the elevator for three trips - then it stopped! The owner was very supportive - we tried turning electric system on and off - but no luck. Now at home we learn a “cab stop” switch had been touched - so we were charged 185 dollars. Sadly, my husband’s knee replacement and my hip replacement really objected to carrying everything up and did detract from our vacation. If this happens, try taking a photo of the panel in the elevator and have the owner talk you through it - wishing we would have thought of that. The charge was applied to the insurance we were required to purchase - so hopefully they will cover.Location is great! Bring towels - we each got a bath towel, but only two hand towels and one washcloth provided. ##### margaret b.
