As of 10/16/2023 we were made aware that the beach access directly across the street, Sea Oats Access, and the access north of the property, Salt Marsh, are currently closed due to beach erosion. The closest beach access is the Sand Fiddler Access which is approximately a block south of the property. "Dolphin Watch" is a six-bedroom, three-bath home with a reverse floor plan that has gorgeous ocean views, natural light, and room for the whole family, making it the perfect vacation spot! Located on the North end of Carolina Beach, your family is within walking distance of the North End Fishing Pier, the High Tide Lounge, and Freeman Park. The primary bedroom is located on the first floor. With a King size bed, two closets, a beautiful en suite with double vanities and a garden tub, this room is a real retreat. A large deck across the front of the home is shared between the primary and the second bedroom. The second bedroom has a Queen bed and a Jack-and-Jill bathroom that connects to the third bedroom. The third bedroom has a Queen bed and features a private, stand-up deck perfect for enjoying the salt air. Bedroom four is also on this level and has a day bed with a trundle. The laundry area with stackable washer and dryer is located on this floor. The top floor has two more bedrooms and the main living area. The fifth bedroom has a Queen bed. The sixth bedroom has a Queen, a bathroom that is also accessible from the hall, and a private, stand-up deck. The main living area boasts a large, open floor plan with the dining area and kitchen. East-facing windows and sliding glass doors to the deck create a sunny, cheery atmosphere. Enjoy the sunrise over the ocean while you drink your morning coffee or have breakfast on the deck where you can easily "Dolphin Watch" for hours! The kitchen has all the appliances you will need to prepare your favorite meals: oven, electric range, microwave, and double-door fridge with freezer drawer. The dining table has seating for eight, and the island has three bar stools - eat in or order takeout from one of the island’s many fantastic restaurants! The beach access directly across the street gives a front row seat to a beautiful ocean scene with rock formations. The Town of Carolina Beach will be re-opening this access after its yearly maintenance due to erosion. Until then, it’s just a short walk to the access one block over where you can set up all day! Don’t miss out on this home- you’ll want to come back any time of year! It is dog-friendly, so bring your best friend with you. Occupancy: 12 Stay Requirements: Saturday to Saturday rental in Summer. Minimum two night stay other seasons. Bedding Configuration: 1 King, 4 Queen, 1 Day Bed with Twin Trundle Parking: Parking for four vehicles Pet Policy: Pet Policy: Dogs welcome as an optional add-on for this property with a non-refundable fee of $250 + tax that is charged per pet. Maximum of 2 dogs per reservation. Charge will be added after booking when the option to bring a pet and number of pets are selected. Nonrefundable fees are listed in the House Rules and animals must be disclosed via the Rental Agreement. Fees are not included automatically when booking on VRBO and must be paid separately to the host if you wish to bring a pet(s). The house is located right across the street from the ocean and has a pretty view from the deck. The beach access directly across from the house remains closed due to erosion. There were numerous small things that were broken or not working properly. The kitchen cabinets are in total disarray. The floor was very dirty. If you walk barefoot your feet will become black. We enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s conveniently located to the beach. The house offers many amenities and conveniences with lots of room. The property was very clean. It is managed by a realty company. It is my belief that after paying $6,000 for a week ( including all fees & taxes) that the company could provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent. I was surprised that a maintenance man came into the house while we were out. I thought that could be taken care of after we left the property for the week. It was a non emergency issue ( changing air filter). Being on this end of the beach you are a couple miles from the boardwalk area & need to drive there. Parking is a problem. The city and private parking areas are a rip off and they are anxious to hand out tickets. So beware. It seems that if you’re staying on the north side, where this house is located, you are penalized by this. Overall it was a good experience. Very nice house. We enjoyed our time there. ##### Debra W. My family and I wanted a get a way at the beach and this was better than our dreams. This property was perfect and was equipped for my one year old son (crib and baby gate). Spacious kitchen and living area. Plenty of seating for everyone to be in the same room. Only down side was inconvenient beach access. Another bonus was the live music from the Tiki Bar/ North Pier which was just a short walk down the beach. ##### Alecia H. Very dog friendly property……We loved the close proximity to Freeman Park. No ice maker…but we didn’t think to ask….and no problem picking up ice at local grocery store. Beautifully decorated. Reviewer Comments: Other than a few missing amenities -- a working dishwasher and at least one hairdryer (which I assume will be addressed), it was a great place for seven friends who needed five 'adult' rooms. Loved the location across from the beach and proximity to the wonderful Tiki Bar on the peer. The house was the perfect amount of space. Being in walking distance could not have been better with going back and forth to get things set up. The only issue we had was navigating the stairs being 50+ and getting everything out by 10AM Cleaning lady was waiting to get in and it just took awhile for us to pack up the fridge etc. I highly recommend a late check-out if available or clean out the fridge etc the night before. ##### Kristy A. It would barely stay up. The floors are nasty. If you stay here wear shoes while in the house or your feet will be black. There is mold in the showers and dishwasher. Master shower handle is backwards so cold is hot and hot is cold. Outdoor furniture is falling apart. Just not a great place. Needs to be updated. Won’t stay here again. ##### James G. Reviewer Comments: Dishwasher wasn’t working. With 10 people in the house eating at home this was a HUGE inconvenience. When maintenance came out he indicated that it’s been acting g up and thought they fixed it. First thing we noticed was how dirty it was. The floors were black and covered in dirt and sand. There was dust covering most all the furniture and ceiling fans. The outdoor furniture was falling apart and the dining room table top was impossible to sit at without things getting stuck to it no matter how much we tried to clean it. The dishwasher smelled like a dying animal. We had to buy cleaning products in order to be able to use the dishwasher and to try to clean the table. The listing mentioned a wagon included to help take your things to the beach. We looked everywhere and couldn’t find one. When I messaged the host I was told it must have broke and sorry for the inconvenience. Yet they sent me an email about renting one from them.
