Food and service excellent. Choice of menu options really good. Rooms good size, bed comfortable, fridge in room with bottles water, plenty of tea, coffee etc in the room. Very convenient from the motorway but away from the road noise. Local walk details provided in the rooms.

Every member of staff was excellent. They knew who we were & they were very conscious of our requirements. Our cottage was immaculately clean, superbly presented. Nothing seemed to much trouble. In terms of customer care & cleanliness, it is possibly the best hotel we have stayed in. The location is pretty good too!

I was very impressed with our visit to Longlands Hotel it is in a good location and close to motorway, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I only stayed one night with room at back and hillside views, the room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was very nice in which we were served. The room was facing the rear overlooking the outside patio and carpark but due to the change in weather there was no-one using the patio so was no additional noise was we had gone to bed. I will definitely come again the location is easily assessible to many great outdoor places to visit in the surronding location (Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes) and the walk on the canal from the hotel is great as well and would be really interested in staying in one of the cottages which I think are set apart from the main hotel

A great find for a family
We stayed here as a family with our 18 month old in a 1 bedroom cottage. Really easy check in, check in for accommodation is just on the right side of the building in the car park. Someone showed us to the cottage. Very clean and spacious, loved the large shower. There was space for our son to sleep in a travel cot (took our own) in the kithen/diner area and we chilled in the bedroom for the evening as there was a TV in there. The cottages are right next to the marina which is quite small but nice and there is a play area on the other side of the marina although it was more for older children. Had a fab stay here, not far from the Lake District. Would definitely return.

I have stayed at Longlands a number of times and enjoy the place a lot. The staff were absolutely super and the food delicious - they deserve very high praise indeed. I wonder if the owners are aware that the new ceiling mounted speakers in the dining room are very effective at transmitting music clearly, up through the floorboards, into the rooms above, during the evening and also as soon as breakfast service starts? This would only be the Coachhouse rooms, so avoid those, if this is likely to disturb your sleep.

Excellent Breakfast! Yummy! Great to walk along the local canal. Staff were courteous and friendly. Only problem was the traffic noise from the A road and M6 and shouting of people in next door room

Third or fourth visit to Longlands and as usual the place was very good for food and accommodation. The only critique would be that the expansion and upgrades recently have taken some of the soul away. The homely feel and charm have been a bit lost which is sad.

Friendly and Comfortable
Friendly greeting and shown to room. Spacious by comparison, clean and comfortable. Room was quiet. Best to book restaurant, good choice on menu. Food well prepared and well presented. Ample portions and competitive prices. Helpful in accommodating bicycles overnight. Overall excellent and would book again.

Well planned bar and restaurant. Our room was excellent. The waiters were friendly and professional. We thought the menus, especially the veg. Pie could do with improving, but breakfast was very good. We did enjoy our stay.

We had the pleasure of stopping over at Longlands Inn on Thursday night, before heading North to Penrith. It is very well situated, just of the M6. From the moment we checked in to the minute we checked out, nothing was too much trouble for any of the friendly and welcoming staff we saw. We had two nice, well equipped rooms, each with a lovely welcome tray containing ample coffee, tea selection and milk. The bathrooms were airy and each contained clean, fresh scented toiletries for use, along with bath sheets, rather than the usual smaller bath towel. The bed was extremely comfortable, providing a lovely nights sleep and if you are a light sleeper, there are complimentary ear plugs in the room A nice, varied menu allowed for a delicious dinner on Thursday evening and an equally delicious breakfast menu was available on Friday morning, with cereal, fruit, croissants… and a selection of cooked breakfasts on offer. We will most definitely be back

The room was average to good, the breakfast was very good. The dining room was large but I thought the food was a bit overpriced for what you got e.g 4.75 for a side of fries. It was quite noisy outside our room because outside tables with people having an evening drink, that didn’t really bother us ( although may bother some people) but what was a problem was an extractor fan underneath the window of our room that was very noisy and went off and on whenever someone used the ladies toilet - we had room 7 and later in the evening the fan was very intrusive and for this reason I would avoid that room

Lovely helpful staff, extremely comfortable beds we slept so well after having a week of stress before we went, lovely spacious room and ultra modern bathroom, lovely sunny Patio for eating and drinking , free coffee on offer, great breakfast, could t fault our stay, only slight negative the restaurant food was a bit pricey.

This is the third time we have stayed at the hotel. The food and the drinks menu is excellent! The staff were brilliant and very helpful and friendly. Accommodation is very good. The opportunity to walk along the canal towpath is superb.

This cottage was ideal for my husband and i and our dogs as a base for visiting family. The provision of poo bags and dog beds and towels was appreciated. Would definately recommend this accommodation
