This beautifully maintained five-bedroom home, 3 bath home, with additional large bonus king loft, is a lovely Carmel Valley retreat (total of seven beds {just added a daybed}). It is beautifully furnished, and the kitchen area makes it nice for intimate family gatherings with casual dining. The kitchen is well-equipped with special touches. There is also a formal living/dining area. While the house is spacious, smaller groups enjoy it as well and please ask about lesser stays, last minute, etc. The main floor has kitchen with dining area, four of the five bedrooms, three bathrooms, formal dining room and game nook (with poker table, games, etc.). The bedrooms all have separate entrances and bathrooms are near to all! The 'bonus' loft is a large, spacious upstairs room with comfy king-size bed and seating. If you are a group of singles, ask owner about additional accommodations so that each has their own bed. The house overlooks beautiful Carmel Valley hills and is close to the Village and many weddings destination sites. It is a short hop to Monterey/Pebble/Carmel/Pacific Grove/Big Sur, etc. Relax on the patio and sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset. The fog may roll in, but usually stops short of the Village. The house is nicely set up for three king bedrooms, one of which is 400 s.f. Each with its own entrance, and two queen-size rooms (bedroom and office, plus bonus loft king). Or, come as a couple, and enjoy the house with the 400 s.f. master with flat screen with seating for sipping wine and watching the northern views (ask for pricing). You will most likely see the wild turkeys and deer as well! The nightly fee fluctuates dependent upon time of year, availability, wedding season, events, etc. Because of Monterey County permitting requirements, the home does have a 7 night minimum stay. Please do talk to owner about any last-minute requests. We limit the number of guests to no more than 7, in keeping with county ordinances and in consideration of our neighbors. The downstairs queen room also has its own family room and flat screen television. There are a total of three flat screen televisions, cable, and wireless internet. Formal living room and dining room, and game/poker table, which can be converted to office space. Spacious outside patio and BBQ. We are in a family-type neighborhood and do not allow events at the property or shuttle buses (our street is too narrow). Uber/Lyft is available. The kitchen is "hang out" friendly with casual table and seating/family room area. It is easy to make day trips to Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Monterey, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and just about anywhere else on the Peninsula. Always contact owners for variations on daily stay requirements, etc. Special pricing for off-season stays. We are a stone's throw to Holman Ranch and other wedding venues. The house was clean and comfortable, appliances worked well, the space is great for hanging out: there’s plenty of living spaces for people to be either together or separate. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean. Cindy and Mike were responsive and helpful, we just needed a new propane tank for the grill and they very quickly were by with a new tank. The house was well appointed and more than spacious for a large group. Cindy was there to welcome us and provided anything we might need. The house was very clean and decorated for the holidays. It was a short walk or drive to Carmel Village that offered winery tasting rooms, restaurants, shopping and a small grocery store. Our family of 10 stayed here. There was plenty of room. We had charming outdoor areas as well and with the gorgeous weather it was comfortable inside and out. It is a large place - perfect for my husband and I, our four kids (each got their own bedroom), and my parents (and our dog). We came down for a few days to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday. It is a great central location for exploring Carmel and Monterey, and for escaping to sunshine from the fog along the coast. We had fun going for walks / runs in the neighborhood (seeing deer and turkeys) and at Garland Ranch Regional Park. Cindy was an amazing attentive hostess, met us shortly after we arrived at the property and was available for any questions we had. We spent a lot of time sitting outside under the trees playing board games. It was lovely - would definitely recommend it to others. ##### Diana G. There are ample bedrooms, group hang-out spaces, dining/computer tables, and quiet rooms for when you need a bit of downtime from socialization. The house was well-equipped and labeled so it was easy to find everything, and the decor made it feel friendly and homey instead of the usual sterile vacation home feel. Cindy was great, very helpful and responsive to the few questions that came up. The next time we aim for a Monterey/Carmel trip, we'll definitely see about staying here again. ##### Alyc H. Clean, quiet, and close to everything. The property manager has a unique style. She felt it necessary to meet us at the door and escort us throughout the property. During that time she commented that she, “runs a tight ship”. She also commented that she counts the silverware and dishes. She lives above a detached garage that is very close and overlooks the rental house. It came across as overbearing and made everyone uncomfortable. After check-in no one felt comfortable being there. With one couple leaving and finding lodging elsewhere. Definitely a unique experience for traveling professionals. ##### Michael H. Everything is spotless and beds are comfortable. The neighborhood is cute and walkable to the village, though dangerous to not be seen at night by drivers. My check in was friendly and specific as the host and I mapped out the parking, and I thought we agreed. Even though three of our cars carpooled and we were parked in the arrangement I thought was agreed, an awful scene ensued by the hosts. Four of our party were rattled as they left dinner prep to move their cars- and were harangued by the host. “We’re not a hotel” and “you’re a liar” are what I recall. Thankfully, helpful messages came the next day, though no apology. For a home this size, either explicit requirements for extra cars to be shuttled into the village, or parking passes on the street ought to be available for visitors. ##### Amy S. I was very respectful in my ask, and her response was rude and condescending. I attempted to find another place to rent but was unable due to our trip being 2 weeks away. Upon arrival, she gave very thorough instructions via message and then told us she would be there to give us a tour. We declined the tour and arrived at the house with no issue. Approximately 30 minutes after we arrived she knocked on the door and then when we didn’t answer immediately, she opened the door and yelled into the house. We were shocked that she would just let herself in and it made us very uncomfortable. We then found out that she stays on the property in a space above the garage watching your every move. She told me about the parking situation five times and gave very clear instructions. We arrived to the house one evening and she came outside to indicate that she didn’t like where I was parked, although I was following her directions. It was very controlling and again, uncomfortable. Her presence put everyone on edge as it felt like she was waiting for you to break one of her rules so that she could come and comment on it. The overall home is nice and accommodated us well, but her presence is unsettling and made the trip uncomfortable. ##### Stacy S.
