The Angel is in the best location, central with easy transport links. Parking is an issue, a squeeze and a sneaky extra £13/night. I always liked the retro feel, a little tired and worn but historic with visible links to Captain Robert Scott's sail to the Antarctic from Cardiff.
Not so much now though,a lilacy makeover looks dull and a bit grubby, railway waiting room lighting to depress.
Nevertheless, comfy beds and a superb shower compensate, with downtown Cardiff on the doorstep. Check price carefully though, they can be very silly at times when the hotel freeloads off local events.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you found our central location very convenient and the room facilities good.
We appreciate the traditional (lilac) decor is not to everyone's taste but we have kept in authentic to the era.
I was disappointed to read your comment about the price. We do price ourselves market appropriate and tend to be one of the cheapest full service, central Cardiff hotels. We just can not offer the same discounts as on non-event days
