The "outside room" invites you to relax under the twin maple trees and enjoy the hot tub, rocking chairs and porch swing in the trees, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. This property is a duplex, completely private with the 2 bedrooms and full bath located on the second floor, providing more privacy away from the main living space. The outside room with hot tub is completely enclosed with a privacy fence and is totally private and exclusive to this side of the duplex. There are no shared spaces except the parking. Just 11 minutes to nearest winery and only 20 minutes to Cedar Lake, 20 minutes to Cache River, 20 minutes to Giant City State Park and close to many wineries, this cozy home is the perfect retreat to come back to after a day of exploring the beautiful Shawnee Hills.

Perfect place to stay on our mini getaway
My husband and I traveled from the St. Louis area for a little weekend getaway. We knew we wanted to enjoy some wineries and go on some hikes. This place was a perfect location, perfect size, very clean, and had great accommodations. Due to the location, we were able to accomplish going to all of the wineries and hiking spots we wanted to without feeling rushed. Then while at the house, the owner has truly thought of everything! We had the option of sitting back and relaxing in the hot tub or having fun playing all the games made available to us. We will be back in the future and we are already recommending this place to others.

Twin Maples was easy to find and clean. Centrally located and quick access to just about anything. Listing as described. The house was rather warm when we first got there due to unpredictable weather. We messaged Kathy and she was there quickly to address the issue. Very receptive host. We would definitely stay again.

Nice place overall.
The house was clean and well stocked. Even though it was an older property there were some nice upgrades with the hot tub (we didn't use it because of the weather), new appliances, and fast wifi. There were only a couple complaints. The mattress in the master bedroom needs replaced. It sags pretty badly in the middle and it's fairly uncomfortable. The other being that the home is located on a busy road in town which can be noisy at times, a long with a train track nearby that is also loud. If you're used to this type of noise it probably wouldn't bother you. It did make things hard for the wife and I to sleep but we are used to things being pretty quiet. Neither of these were enough to knock a star off for us because we really enjoyed our couple nights away but thought future renters might want to know.
