This lovingly restored detached Grade II listed cottage with Flemish gables lies close to the owners’ home at the top of a country lane, amid their 21-acre farm consisting of orchards. Many original features remain – and with wide doorways, ground floor bedroom and bathroom, wheelchair access is possible. The village of Preston-next-Wingham is a mile away and there are walks through the orchards to join the Saxon Shore Way. Canterbury is a 20-minute drive. Whitstable and Dover for trips to France are easily accessible. Golf locally. Sandwich, a 15-minute drive. Shop and pub 1 mile. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 16 guests. Wonderful historical building, with a host who helped us when we got lost (😂 it was way easier than we made it seem!) as well as giving the goods in regards to their pub recommendation. Amenities were very good. Cleanliness excellent. Granny came with us so the downstairs room and bathroom were ideal for her. She did say that unfortunately the mattress downstairs was uncomfortable. Otherwise it was an ideal setting. Enjoyed the apple orchards and The wildlife. Owners very friendly and helpful. Can reach many places for days out, food etc, whilst retreating to the peace and quiet, and clear night skies. Would definitely recommend and hope to return. We stayed the last week in May and had the most amazing time. The owners were so welcoming and friendly. The cottage had everything you could want, and the location was fantastic. The outside space thats allocated with the cottage was fantastic we played for hours outside. The location is perfect for the beach, Canterbury Castle, wildlife park etc etc. There are 2 local pubs/restaurants minutes from the cottage and the owners were so nice (The Rising Sun and The Dog and Duck, the food was delicious. The best thing was the quiet, its so peaceful.
